          Arvo Undies,

Thanks for your good thoughts, Bridgeeeee.

Feeling a tad apprehensive, Undies. Mum had a fall on Tuesday (nothing broken) but they're keeping her in hospital for the time being. I'm always a tad nervous when oldies go to hospital ...

          Gorgeous, autumnal day.

Sorry to hear about your mum Froglette. I hope she is ok, nothing broken is a good start, hopefully it's just a case of a cupla days and she will be back to her home. I know what you mean about concern, something about hospital isn't it? sorry Nicey and other hospital people...

And, yes, today is just beautiful. The Lamp took me out for lunch, had a zucchini pasta with a red curry and vegie sauce. Twas delish. I now want to buy a thing to make zucchini pasta with. Didn't feel heavy after eating it. Noice.

So...on the yearly mammograb...upshot is I've got a lump in my boob that the doctors don't like. I don't like it either. So, its away to a surgeon in the next few weeks. Should, hopefully, be the end of that. Can't reiterate enough, that you really need to stay on top of these checks. Even if your busy. Especially if your busy.

Thanks for the kick up the arse. I have TOTALLY neglected this stuff. I think I've missed two, maybe three mammograbs and haven't had a PAP in bloody years. My excuse has been "I haven't got time for this" ...

I have such huge issues with my sister not doing her checks that I'm normally good. I say normally but I did pass on my last one as it was the week before Christmas. Next available appointment was this week. You just really don't know. And you need to.

I hear you. Too close for comfort. I think for the last 2.5+ years I was so busy looking after Nige that I just brushed my issues/needs/responsibilities aside. Stupid, I know.

Tawny ?? :l I got to know the hospital really well over the last 6 months that Mum was living independently. It's a big balancing act - being in a hospital took her spirit away, but repaired her health ?.. then she would go home and feel good for a while, but didn't really have the strength to look after herself properly and get sick again. She had some really bad falls that she didn't even remember having ???. it was very distressing. Feel free to vent if you need to :l

And don't use it as an excuse to avoid all your checks. I'm pretty religious about them ?? and I'm very grateful that Medicare funds bowel cancer screening as with a history of it in the family and my history with alcohol I'm at high risk. NZ does breast cancer, cervical cancer and prostate cancer screening, but bowel cancer screening is not yet publicly funded. So I'm on the waiting list while I'm here and grateful for the opportunity to have it done.

Oh Happs, that must be distressing. :l:l But I'm certain you will consider all the options and make the decision that is right for you in the light of your personal diagnosis and circumstances.

I'm off to bed ?. even though its only been three days, the week has felt very long!! And Mr B gets back from NZ at sparrow's fart tomorrow and I need to be at the airport to pick him up Looking forward to another long weekend

Early stage breast cancer & late stage breast cancer are two different things - you want to be handed the 'early stage' reading material if it comes to that (which it probably won't) and the only way to ensure that is to have checks regularly - Tawny, today your mission is to make an appointment for mammo & pap. Reportage please when it's done.

Well, that's a bit of a downer this morning. It grey here today, kids are getting ratty & I'm quite pleased to be going to work for a few hours
