One of the seniors I work with wanted to go to Stanton Optical to order her glasses today...buy one, get one free. I borrowed Mrs. Fen's luxury cruiser mobile, as the client has a difficult time climbing up into my Fennel-mobile. My client was lured in by the 69.99 deal they put on t.v. She had a rude awakening today. She needs bi-focals, natch...her second pair of specs are going to be for reading. She ended up paying 178.00 for two pairs of glasses, which she thought was ridiculous, so she threw a big fit in the store. I calmly told her that she certainly didn't have to pay for them and we could leave. She decided to go for it, especially after I told her I haven't paid less than four hundred bucks for ONE pair of glasses since the Clinton administration.
Still, I think those ads are so deceptive.
After my shift with her, I went to mom's and did some cleaning and running around for her. We got a new battery for her portable oxygen thingy, so she's set there. I told her I will call her new pulmonary doc tomorrow concerning that surgery. I think she's such a poor risk for surgery, and since my sister didn't bother to take notes, I might as well get the info myself.
Making dinner and reading back.
