The boss that was giving me and my colleagues shit.. (as mentioned a few posts ago)

Has been sacked by the company. Jumped before she was pushed. (oh dear, what a pity, never mind)

I have tapered off using alcohol and AF for 3 days. I am still having cramps bottom of both ribcages. My doc told me my GGT is 365 and that the cramps are probably due to withdrawals. The cramps are in the liver and pancreas regions. Has anyone else had this experience?

Is baclofen good for these cramps?

How do I post a new thread. I can't seem to find the link.

    Advice appreciated

Hi Daevid, I thought by your description of your bullying she-bear boss that you were my colleague, but I'm in the US! SO glad to hear that she is gone from your 9 to 5 routine! :dancing:

I don't take baclofen so I don't know, but I would definitely drink as much water as you can to re-hydrate, maybe with some citrus slices?

        Hi Daevid!

From your description, I thought that we worked for the same she-bear, but I'm in the States.
So glad to hear that she is no longer part of your 9 to 5 routine! :dancin:

I don't know about baclofen but I'd recommend drinking lots of water with citrus, or a splash of 100% cranberry in it to help you feel better.

        Best wishes and hugs!

Hi Daevid, baclofen is a muscle relaxant, so I doubt it's going to do anything for your current discomfort. Liver enzymes of 300+ are quite extreme (during my last detox, the doc said mine were about 200), so your cramps are probably your liver and pancreas screaming "uncle." I'm over 30 days now and I still have occasional pain in the area of my liver. With your enzymes where they are, my recommendation would be to stay alcohol free for a very long time, preferably for good.

Have you been taking bac regularly since you started this thread? Just a cautionary word, stopping bac cold turkey can be dangerous, and the danger increases proportionally with dose.

Just thinking about it recreates the fear. It is scarcely less bitter than death, but in order to tell of the good that I found there, I must tell of the other things I saw there. --Dante, paraphrased

Thanks for your support guys. I'm going for an assessment with an alcohol agency this morning. Will be posting how it went. You guys are an absolute treasure. Your company is priceless. Thanks.

Just wondering how the assessment went? I too had shaky hands after quitting. It went away after a day or too. Everyday you don't drink, those liver enzymes go down a bit, just saying. My doctor said cramps (mine were in my legs) could be do to dehydration. Go figure I started drinking ALOT of water and they are better. Keep us posted?

Thanks Lizann. These are abdominal cramps though they are lessening so far today. Am keeping hydrated and eating snacks. I have accommodation and occupational worries too. They certainly keep me awake at night. No desire to drink as I am too scared. Hope my liver recovers. Gamma GT was 365!
