There are so many things I'm grateful for, and as you said, it's the small things that count the most.
Watching my beautiful green-eyed cat, Giada, sleeping in a sunny spot in my study. She's serenely content. And so am I.

My addition isn't very romantic or poetic... I'm grateful I remember what I did last night. That had really become an issue, the black outs...

Being able to get up and go without worrying if I had too much too drink
And not having to worry about stepping on my cat in a drunken stuporAL free since March 17th 2011...loving this life. No drinking no matter what.

01. My renewed life
02. The smell of fresh cut grass -especially in the morning
03. The whites in my eyes and fresh -alcohol free breath
04. Being able to talk to people without worrying my breath smells of alcohol
05. Forgiveness and strength
06. My husband (spouse) the constancy of the safe haven he provides
07. Watching my green eyed cat sleep in the sunshine -My cat is serenely content
08. Being able to make choices -free of alcohol's influence or direction
09. My Way Out and the support
10. Being given a second chance
11. Living without fear and anxiety
12. Trusting myself again
13. Being able to support my kids in their favorite activities....i.e. baseball/softball
14. Yummy Meals
15. A fresh morning with family
16. Respect that I have earned -from family, friends, colleagues (cont. to 17)
17. I am reliable, honest, and genuinely try to do the next right thing
18. Doing the next right thing and my teachers
19. I am grateful that I REMEMBER what I did last night -no more black outs
20. Liking myself again
21. My aging parents and being able to be sober to support them
22. Nice Mornings
23. Being there, properly there -for my family

I can relate to (and appreciate) EVERY single one of these gratitude items. Maybe I am just getting old.
