Take care and get through the next couple of days. I have some very simple , basic things I do no matter what no matter who every morning/day as a self care routine to help keep me on track to who and where I want to be(I meditate and run) . Many sober living folk say some sort of daily self care practice is essential. :happy2: G

You can do it Bandit. I have done exactly the same thing. Got a job or opportunity that excited me, then pissed it up in 'celebration'. Who was I kidding? Answer....Myself. I've learned that all else flows from me. If I'm not right, no-one around me is either, including my job.

Thank u Mr. G, funny thing is my job will actually involve working with a lot of people that probably have addiction issues etc..believe it or not I have a psychology background, so I should know better, I don't work in that field directly, more working with people to help them back into training/work etc. I am determined though this time to not to f it up, this is a real second chance for meThere will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning.

Job sounds right up your alley. I don't agree that you should know better. AL is a cunning and baffling foe. Don't forget, with your lived experience of the hell of addiction, and you are living sober (like you are doing as of now), you will be a powerful asset to the people you work with.
You may need to develop a ruthless plan to get you through and back on track until you are 'running on your own power'. It may be time to take no prisoners.

Bandit, just pick yourself up and keep going! Any day without al is a good day!
Nora good for you. Keep checking in honey. I don't know about you, but I have good days and less good days. Are there any good days for you? Today was a good day.
Struggling to stay awake, so have a good night!

Bandit,
Your sister here as I have definitely done the same thing with exposing too much of my drinking problem to co-workers. Luckily the last event I went to, I had a real bad cold so didn't hang with everyone after the convention lectures. Got a little tipsy the next night but it wasn't out of control. The lady I roomed with could tell as I was leaning on her a bit as we walked back to the hotel. So many things that are embarrassing or slightly embarrassing as I look back. Just want to be done with worrying about it and I know being abstinent can take that fear away. However, with trying to moderate , it is always looming there.

I hate when the little voice pops into my head. I don't know why it's there. Things had gotten really bad! I need to remember that and ignore that little voice in my head.........
I just finished my book and am starting on another one. Going to hit the sack early. I see my therapist in the morning and then I'll go to the chiropractor. I am sure hubby will be going with me. Now that he knows I was sneaking the AL, he is being very watchful. That is helping. I know that I can't smuggle it in.

Right, been preparing for a few days, getting things rolling in the right direction. Next step, to pick a day....no point putting it off....today feels right!
Started listening to the bubble hour while at the gym. Back to my swimming. Listened to the hypno cd this morning, which I will do once a day. Have a book to read. And of course, MWO....no excuses! Day 1 of my new life!IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN

Hi Daisy, I take a sister product of Amoryn, Seredyn. Like you said or Lav said Amoryn is a mood booster or fights depression. Seredyn is aimed more toward anxiety and panic attacks. Both excellent products, I'm sure. Am flying next week & will be taking the Seredyn as I have to breathe deeply in order not to start feeling panicky.
Hope you are having a good day!

Sorry I have been MIA this weekend. All is good. Lucy as sick again yesterday, car wash at church. My sister and oldest daughter came over after, we ate pizza ice cream and watched a movie.
Today my hubby's aunt from Florida was here and we had a mini reunion with the relatives here. I miss that so. Sadly I took it for granted back in the day, but savored every minute today. Hope everyone is doing well. More tomorrow.
