Anyone in the First Week of Their Unpteenth Quit?

But... I think that's the point here. You are having a hard time and you post your honest feelings and the rest that are having a positive day/experience share back and help bring that person back. Right/wrong?

The way I understand it there is a similarity with going on a diet and I'm sure we all know people who have yo-yo'd with that. It is because they make changes for a period of time and then expect to maintain the gains by returning to the way they were eating before. Without making lasting changes in the way they eat they'll never keep the weight off.
One of the issues that I'm wrestling with is that I've decided on a lifestyle that excludes alcohol and nicotine but for some reason I find myself unable to fully commit to it. My main focus has been on moving through the paces of the lifestyle I have chosen and "act my way into right thinking." but without commitment it feels a little bit like living in two worlds.
Eloise - I completely agree that moving to a new country or clime is too much but one thing that I have been looking at is going back and looking at the Feng Shui of my apartment. Doesn't have to be Feng Shui but definitely like Sober suggests changing some furniture or just rearranging things in your present physical environment can help. I'm thinking about it as it has helped me get over existential crises in the past. I do notice a difference since I started burning incense again.

Pauly I don't think that is what is being said. Please don't stop posting, don't stop being honest. Just don't define yourself as a chronic relapser. You're just Pauly who has happened to relapse. :0)

          Don't Go Pauly

You can't do this to us, Pauly. We need you here. We need you with your honesty. Like I said previously you can't be upbeat and honest at the same time when you are not feeling upbeat, right.

Please stay and keep trying. Pauly if you knew the number of times I've signed off MWO because a comment hurt my feelings, you'd think I was hyper sensitive... but we ARE hyper sensitive. We are alcoholics and that is, by definition, part of our make-up.

Try to take what everyone says here that doesn't make you feel warm and fuzzy as the kick in the butt we sometimes need.

I know it's tough but we do not judge here!! If anyone judges us, we ignore them.

          Take care xoxo:h:h

SS,i will never leave MWO,i have two other threads that i post actively on,i just think that by voicing my opinions here may be making some feel wobbly, although i have only posted the horrors of drinking,i don't understand how that's negative to some people,i point out what hell drinking has been to us and how we must be on guard daily even if we're having a good day
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

              Hi Again:
Speaking of the constant struggle, I am back again for another quit. I am fed up with the beast and the constant cycle of guilt and drinking. Hoping you will have me back.

                  Hi Ginger and all.
Thanks for the welcome back on day 1. No struggles at the moment. I am feeling good.
Had a great workout at the gym today and got some work done today that I have been avoiding.
Planning to take the dog for a run this evening instead of drinking. I know she will be happy!

Pauly, if your thoughts and comments are because of my post, I'm sorry. It wasn't my intention to target you or anyone in particular, I just meant that relapses can breed relapses...I've seen it happen. We are all somewhat vulnerable when we're early in sobriety. I just think we all have to keep our guard up and not let someone else's weak moment bring us down, like Ginger said, it should make the rest of us encourage the person who is struggling to "suit up" and get back in the game.

Welcome back R4L! Glad your ready to do it!

Just got home from a four day trip to the ocean with my sister and four gkids. Had a fabulous AF time! Thanks for all the support. Just knowing you guys are out there makes all the difference in the world to me.

                          Well Done Ginger!!!

I find it rewarding when I do something now that I previously did while drinking. It's like a whole new experience and I realize how much I missed because I was always preoccupied with the next drink....

Exactly, Don! I used to be so focused on the next drink and when I could have it that I lost site of the moment entirely. The sis I went with has never drank and made a comment that really hit home...she said it was so nice to go with me this trip and that she finally felt like she had her sister/friend "back".

Hope you all have a great AF weekend! I'm heading to do some Yoga and walk the dog. She missed me while I was away!!

                                Hi All
Just checking and day 2 almost done. Enjoyed a football game this afternoon and then out for dinner.
It was a bit annoying watching the wine at all the other tables but the food was great and I will feel great tomorrow morning. I am hoping to get up early for a run before church.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
