Anyone in the First Week of Their Unpteenth Quit?
SS, Monday doesn't seem easier to me. :/ I drank everyday so pretty much one day was the same as the next. I do a lot of self talk and I get outside when I start feeling like I'm going to slip. I'd gotten sick on wine more times than I care to count so I'd recently switched to light beer and occasionally whiskey/water. Hubby and I always had a cocktail and cooked dinner together. Now I make sure I have sparkling water on hand so I can still sip while we cook. Starting the Yoga has really helped get my head straight. It makes me more centered. I'm still waking up with a foggy headache. That's a real bummer but it passes quickly once I get up and start my day. Have any of you guys experienced that? It's like a mild hangover yet I haven't drank anything.
Sure glad you are all out there. It's 5:19p here so I need to go cook dinner with my hubby and sip some sparkling water. You all have a good AF night. I'm so glad all of you are out there and that I finally got brave enough to register!

Yes that headache thing happened to me at day 5 and pretty much sucked but luckily like you I had yoga that morning so that helped. I find I am cooking more meals that wouldn't like to drink wine with...not that I needed a certain meal to drink wine with because it frankly didn't matter but let's face it there are some meals that just go with wine, right?
This afternoon was feeling a bit down which is when I posted and it feels so good to hear what everyone else is going through! Thanks for the support..hugs to all!

Ohhhh ... so that's what that low grade headache was all about... I still get it often when I wake up and it's been annoying the hell out of me since I thought I was through with feeling yucky in the morning. I actually thought maybe I was not getting enough caffeine.
What causes the headache???
Ginger, I get what you mean about Monday being just another drinking day as I, too always drank while hubby and I cooked every day. I had a trigger while we were BBQing tonight so I drank and ice cold A/F beer; actually I guzzled it.
Right now we have no wine in the house and hubby is not asking me to buy it. Good for my cause."If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading."

SS and Uncorked, It is nice to know I'm not alone with my headache. I drinks tons of water throughout the day (always have) so I don't think it's dehydration but who knows? I guzzled my sparkling water too and now I'm working on my water again! Whatever it takes to stay AF!!

Think the headaches are definitely part of paws...and our bodies readjusting electrolytes etc...I find I am thirsty during the day..probably from dehydration that comes from long term drinking?? At least that's what I think. SS so you guzzled a NA beer...good for you! I know I will want to do this at some point this summer. I know it's controversial but drinking NA beer to feel you fit in or because it satisfies that need for a cold one seems okay by me. Whatever works for you works for you, right? Traveling tomorrow ladies so won't get to check in until tomorrow evening and I will be calling on you for strength...I'll be at our cabin in the mountains alone with beer leftover in the fridge and open bottle of wine left behind which I'm already thinking about how to handle. hubby can't be there until next morning..I'm sure I will be fine but reinforcements always good! Hang in there gals!

May I join you on this thread? I certainly am in the first week of my umpteenth quit! I have so much trouble getting more than a few days under my belt, and have a habit of leaving this site every time I fail. I'm hoping that simply committing to myself that I post every day no matter what will help to finally get off this roller coaster. You had the power all along, my dear.

We will be sending you positive vibes while you are at your cabin. Just tell yourself you will go one night (or day) without drinking and then take the next tiny step until you've passed all your cabin time booze free. Don't look at the big picture. I've had many nights as a normie but I figure I am an alcoholic not because of how much I drink but because of how much time I spend thinking about drinking. Too much wasted time.

Good morning all.... Just checking in before I start my day. Woke up again with that foggy headache but it's already starting to subside. Maybe it's just old age! Maybe I'd feel like this no matter what. Busy day today so not much time to think about AL. Monday night was tough for me for some reason but made it AF and today is a new day - right? Glad you are all out there old and new. We can do this together!
