Where is everyone today? I'm having a tough time today. The beast is lurking. Watching soccer with my son in a bit. Maybe that'll cheer me up. I ok, I can do this, I don't drink!

Anyone in the First Week of Their Unpteenth Quit?

Hey all, day 50 today.
Reading a great book by Scott Kiloby called Natural Rest for Addiction. It introduces the idea of allowing cravings, thoughts and emotions to pass through our minds and bodies while simply noticing them but not reacting, judging, denying or doing anything except letting them be. It's about being in the present as often as possible and this is accomplished by being the seat of the soul and 'watching' our thoughts rather than identifying with the thoughts that constantly float through our minds.
Thanks also for sharing this book info. Sounds interesting - I'll have to check it out.
:thanks:Everything you want is on the other side of fear.

Reporting for my first week for the umpteenth time, yes that's me!
Day 2 today and feeling good to kick that monkey off my back.
The only time I feel bad is when I'm still drinking. And I don't want to feel bad!
I've had good sober time, over 90 days a few times.
But it all happens one day at a time.
Have a great day everyone!Day 1 again 11/5/19
Goal 1: 7 days :heartbeat:
Goal 2: 14 days :happy2:
Goal 3: 21 days :happy2:
11/27/19: messed up but back on track
12/14/19: bad doozy but back on track
One day at a time.

Anyone in the First Week of Their Unpteenth Quit?
Finally got internet at the little trailer we're living in on the construction site. Woot Woot!!
After all the help and encouragement I've taken from this site, now I can start helping others while being very careful not to become complacent in my sobriety.
Lizanne, I hope you are feeling stronger today. Cravings are a bitch. Try to ride them out. All they are is pictures in your head...
Nursie, when I read that you've had 90 days and relapsed, it really hits home... I feel that I'm invincible but relapse can happen after years, eh...
I'm kinda having a love affair with non-alcohol beer (becks is the best) recently. It is great ice cold with a wedge of lemon or lime. Sure hits the spot. So glad I'm turned off wine (vinegar) and every time I pour it for some one I smell it just to make sure it still reeks. Hopefully that's not a lead up to tasting it just to make sure. LOL... (or not)
I am very happy to see the repeat offenders (my peers) coming back, head held high, to jump back into the foray again. We have to realize and acknowledge that we will all reach sobriety but each of our paths are different. Some of us need a few extra shots to the head before we finally get it.
One of the big differences in this bout of sobriety for me was that I started a blog and started following other sober blogs. Not sure how much of an impact this made but it is one thing that's different this time around and I am finding success.."If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading."

Hi all,
This time feel different for me too, I totally agree, I've been reading heaps of sober blogs and listening to podcasts like the bubble hour.. That and posting on here every day is really helping
I'm enjoying watching the World Cup and because of the time diff it's on between midnight and 6 am so the only thing I'm drinking at that time is Milo!

Hi Gang!
I'm glad everyone is in the game and beating The Beast. He's a crafty and stubborn son of a bitch but once we can identify him and his tricks he really is helpless........poor Beast.....it must suck being him!
Day 30 here and I'm happy and proud of myself and all of you. There is strength in numbers and we're doing it. If you're having a hard time just think of the rest of us who are going through the same thing. You're not alone as long as you keep that in mind you will succeed.
Have a great night tonight and a great day tomorrow...

Chief, congrats on those 30 days! I mostly just read this thread, I feel like I've run out of things to say. But this is a great thread, it is invigorating to read all the success stories. It took me close to 5 years to quit for good, I feel great. My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Ginger, are you still around? Post please. It's easy to get lost in the cracks of this site and I really have grown to like you so I've noticed you are not posting for a few days.
I wish I had a tool to figure out how many days I've been sober. I keep forgetting. Dead brain cells I guess.
Heading up to the lake this weekend so won't be posting as we don't have internet but until then I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to get encouragement and to offer the same.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!"If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading."
