Right back atcha ABC. We will be pretty busy tomorrow with brunch with boys and their family and a big dinner with extended family. Always a fun time with white elephant gifts and way too much good food! There's never much (if any) AL at these two gathers, which makes it nice for me. Everyone knows I don't drink any more so it's pretty much a none issue now. Thank goodness! For the newbies or near newbìes checking here, hang in there. You've made the best decision of your life when you decided to quit AL. Make that plan and stick to it!Last edited by Ginger999; December 23, 2014, 11:52 PM.

Thanks for the supportive words Ginger and abcowboy. Enjoying the Christmas festivities AF and surprisingly am not having intense urges to drink, and am focusing on the positives that are coming with eliminating AL from my life, it is going on three weeks and am feeling really good. The uplifting messages and support from the MWO is keeping me on the right rack, most definitely. I am checking in daily, reading A lot and posting as well. It keeps it real, I find.
Wishing everyone here a wonderful holiday!
abcowboy, I most definitely don't plan on quitting, quitting! I like that , it made me laugh!

Hang on tight you guys! You are doing great! You guys support us as much as we support you so keep posting. If things get hard, take a break from the festivities and check in. Someone is usually around especially over at the Nest. Merry Christmas!
Just heading out now to begin our festivities.

Greetings Afers!!! Hope everyone is enjoying their day. It doesn't seem like Christmas here because it's 55 degrees! You never know with Ohio.....next week it could be 15 degrees.
Hang in there and don't let anyone or anything influence your desire to have a good, sober holiday. Just think how good you'll feel and how proud you'll be knowing you enjoyed the holidays without drinking.
Keep checking in. We're all in this together!

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Good for you BG! No matter how old we get, we always want out Mom's approval and you deserve it.
We made it to pick up the RV. Cold as all get out. Unseasonable cold for southern NV. We are going to wait out a wind advisory and then head to southern CA. Hope the weather gets better soon. (still beats work)

Hi everyone! Checking in and staying accountable! I'm glad to see Christmas behind us, New Year's isn't a big event for me, as Bubba and I spend it alone, quality time for us after the rush of Christmas. But New Year's is our oldest daughter's birthday, so will probably Skype with her and her guy. I'm enjoying today, last day off, then back to work and I'm looking forward to it lol 4.5 days of sitting around is more than enough for me, time to get busy again! Great to see so many of us getting through this time of year with our quits intact and I'm looking forward to 2015 as my first full year AF! Have a great day my friends!Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Sounds like everyone had a wonderful holiday, staying AF and making each moment count! Congrats BeachyGirl on making it through those two events, only a couple of days and it will be 2015! I'm counting on it being the best year for me, I have so much more hope being AF. Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday. Hope you get warmer weather coming your way Ginger.

Hi everyone! Good to see people checking in. We made it to southern California in time for a cold spell. LOL you get what you get when it comes to weather! Looking forward to some hiking. I feel like you ABC, I need some activity after 4 days in the truck!
Stay close everyone. We are racking up the days!

GMAE all and happy holidays!
Glad to hear people staying strong. Myself - I made it through Christmas with my family AF as well as through the weekend at my brother's the brewer. Intend on spending the New Year reflecting on the past year and figuring out who I'd like to become over the course of 2015 along with some goal-setting.
