    Army thread Saturday 26 April

    Evening all.

Roxxy, in my very humble opinion get the mammagrab...............uncomfortable, painful ackshully I bloody hate them but its better than the other option. My bezzie mate died of breast cancer but because it was caught early she had a blooming good 10 years because of treatment.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Oh and Doreen finally passed to the great fish pond in the sky and was buried with due ceremony at the top of the garden.............and Mr JC managed to dig up a hamster skull which must have been up there 20 years.

That's what I'm arguing with jackie. Mine would be too dense to see anything though. Pain only to be told inconclusive.

Speaking to the operatives, they would have no opinion (not allowed) but I will go anyway.

            Rip Doreen, eventually.

I will go, but don't see the point in pain for no conclusion. I have pain almost every time I have smears but at least there's a result with those. I don't miss those appointments.

            Ah damn.

Good woman yerself Rox:l Don't know much about them tbh- is there another way they can scan you then if the mammogram inconclusive? Surely they should do that? Have heard they are sore- haven't had the 'pleasure' yet. Last smear thought was gonna pass out with the pain tho. Holy feck am wincing just at the thought.

                RIP Doreen xx

Sweetie, I know how you feel and I hope you don't take this the wrong way but breast cancer is the best one to get if you're going to get it. It all depends on what stage she has been diagnosed at, but even then all is not lost.

                  Cancer is a bitch.

There are other ways, not paid for by NHS. I had a series of cysts for a few years and I refused mammos. I got what you have for looking at babies in uterus scanny thingy. They weren't happy. That was in hospital, this is a mobile set up in a car park. Well see.

I know girls, yis are 100% right. Don't know stage yet- just got tests yesterday- but she was told it was treatable... I've been very much like a selfish child this past week and been doing a lot of navel gazing- not good((( Will pull the socks up and be there for her tho.

Yes indeed. But you know they'll get a result.

Except one time nurse was so vigorous she scraped too hard and left bruises inside. Painful? Fuck yes. Got a letter saying it was inconclusive. Great, worry time and had to get another one. Regular doc said it was because it was tainted by too much blood. Yep, it could have told her that. Refused to admit the nurse had done it wrong.

Enough to put anyone off, but I do it for my health. Pressing a breast to 1 inch when it physically can't? Not so sure.

Well there we have it. They say having a smear is just slightly uncomfortable and a mammogram slightly painful.

                                Er, no!
