    Underoo's Magical May

Pretty pics Rags. The colours are amazing, aren't they? I blame the Brady Bunch re the question set to the kid in Queensland though. It's this modern thing called tv, gets in their heads :H

Brilliant day Undies. Really looking forward to teaching tomorrow, I'm going to make them all stay on the ground. Stay low so I don't have to stand up too much, it'll be a ripping class. There will be snores everywhere, you wait

        Underoo's Magical May

        Happy Monday my little pretties!

I enjoyed a splendiferously gorgeous weekend. Did many jobs, much pottering in my 'garden' and honoured the weather. Noice'!

Up early, at the desk of great impordance. Off to play with grown ups a bit later. Oh joy! Wore my new top and pearls to set the scene. I'm going in a taxi cab!

Bridge how is your bewdiful girl going?

        Salute to Mr G.

        Wave out to Ficks.

        Head nod to Tawny.

I'm wearing my new fitbit monitor. So far I've done approx 1,100 steps. It's pretty groovy. I'm synced to my iPad!

I'm having the girls and their boys over for dinner on Saturday night. I've got dessert sorted but I just don't know about an easy main. Suggestions please?

Have a beautiful day everyone. Remember though, let it be. To do otherwise will do your head in!

How can anyone afford a taxi these days?

Has anyone been in contact with Mr G?
I thought he would have made a quick call into the drawer by now.

            Morning Undies,
The lights look amazing...we're definitely heading in to see them. We went last year & Circular Quay was more packed than NYE 1999...was dreadful. So a weeknight is a good idea.
I worked all weekend...and back to it today. The manager at the Bowlo is giving me the major craps...he.is.a.knob.jockey.

            That is all.

How was the bread Missy? Save me a slice.
I'm going to make some bread later to-day.
Either Palms Caf? recipe or multigrain molasses bread.

There's not a lot of action this morning.
Everyone must be rushing to work.

                      Here you go Nicey,
Here's something that's tasty, but if you're time poor, why not just bung something in the slow cooker like Corries lamb curry?

                      Moroccan Spiced Chicken

                      Chicken cut into 8 pieces
6 cloves garlic 12 cm ginger chopped
                      1 bunch coriander ` 1/2 bunch parsley
3Tbsp ground cumin 1 tsp cumin seeds
2Tbsp smoked paprika 1 Tbsp caraway seeds
2 tsp chilli powder 150 g soft butter
                      1Tbsp salt flakes
Blitz everything to a fine paste, smear over chicken, cover and marinate overnight.
Preheat oven to 220 C fan forced. Spread chicken on tray pour in 5oo ml water, roast 20 minutes.
reduce temperature to 160 degrees and cook a further 1 1/4 hrs.
Serve with couscous, blanched greens and thick yoghurt. Or, why waste all that oven space and leccy.
Bung in some veggies to roast with the chook.

Then there's always TAwns chook on a can. That should raise an eyebrow or two. :H

And here's Corries recipe for Lamb curry from the Undies cookbook.

1 kg shoulder lamb, cubed large
                      1 onion
                      1 tin tomatoes, undrained
                      2 cloves garlic
                      1 heap teaspn ginger
liberal dash curry powder ( depends on brand & taste)
                      1 heaped tspn cumin powder
                      1 packet french onion soup

                      method :
chuck all into slow cooker & ferment for 6 hrs.
serve with yoghurt, chopped coriander, on brown rice.

Finally here's Tawny's creamy chicken. Bloody good.

                      "Creamy Mexican Chicken". Tawny

                      2 Tbsp Olive oil
                      5 Chicken breasts (thinly sliced)
                      1 garlic clove (crushed)
                      1 onion (sliced)
                      150g button mushrooms (thinly sliced)
                      1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
                      1 tsp Cumin powder
                      1 3/4 cups (430 ml) cream
                      1/4 cup tomato paste (60ml)
                      1 Tbsp chopped parsley

Heat half the oil in the pan, add chicken in batches, cook, stirring, until chicken is browned and tender. Remove.
Heat remaining oil, add garlic, onion and mushrooms, cook, stirring, until onion is soft. Add pepper, herbs, cream and paste, simmer, uncovered, about 15 minutes or until slightly thickened.
Add chicken and parsley, stir over heat until chicken is warmed through.

There, that should give you a few choices.
Let us know how it goes.

Happy, it was ROOLY great! And dead easy - one of those "chuck everything together and put it on high for 6 hours" jobbies. And went perfectly with the life-changing bread!!

I'm going to try to get a little more adventurous with my slow cooker - I tend to use it for soups and beans, and not much else. But I'll have some more time on my hands soon so I'll try to be a little more adventurous!

Weeknight is what we have decided too Angel. Tomorrow maybe, or Wednesday to fit around Mr B's shifts. Thankfully the train from Circular Quay to our local stop takes less than 20 mins, so we can run away quickly if the crowds are too much to deal with :H:H

Not much to report from this end other than I ate chips and eggs for lunch. No, let me rephrase that. I made chips and eggs for lunch. I should have left that childhood memory as it was. ***pfffft***

I ate a ham and cheese toasty. On bread you're having when you're not having bread. It was orright 'cos I was hungry from my trip in a taxi cab. I didn't pay for my taxi cab ride but. I'm impordant and have a corporate credit card..... The driver couldn't drive a nail through butter. He was all over the road like a mad woman's breakfast. I asked him if he was having spasms because he kept veering right then yanking back to the left. I said "keep her straight big fella, or we will D I E". Well, I didn't rooly......

I met with a very spesh person on my trip to the grown ups. I liked her, and we said we would swap books! :h

                            Anyway....bactoit.

Oh, I've done 4,029 steps so far today. Aiming for 10,000 - pffffft!

Thanks for the recipes Ragsy. I've just been told they don't like curry.....I made curry last time! Pfffft. I'm thinking something in the slow cooker though. Maybe a chunk of nice meat and tri coloured baked veggies.
