One Step at a Time - June 2014

    hi all,
Off to church then a train club meeting on the other side of town..looks like rain so hope it stays away for a while.
I like to juice but not the clean up...so I don't do it as often as I make a smoothie in the blender. It has lots of good stuff in it too....mmmmmm
    Back later,

Happy birthday Allswelll and Anniversary Pauly! Sorry I was late to mention that.
I am so pleased the girls did well Kradle!
I think my system is out of whack from traveling and I just need to take it easy for a bit. My tummy is the first thing that acts up. Stress, anger, diet, alcohol, etc
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

            Good Morning Steppers,

I am getting ready to fly out to Memphis for work but just wanted to pop in and say, "HELLO!" to all you lovelies. ;-)

Mama, you do NOT have turkey butt lips...they're pouty and sensual. Scary that hubs knows what a turkey butt looks like.:H

K9, I have been thinking about you soooo much!! I know you were sooooo disappointed and upset that you didn't get that job at the PD, but I hope you don't mind me butting in with my unasked for advice. I was an investigative news reporter for years and my beats were criminal court and the PD. It is a BLESSING that you did not get that job at the PD. Believe me, police work of any kind for a woman is very thankless, and still, even now, women in those positions get very little respect. You have such a wonderfully compassion and kind personality, that I think the water treatment plant would be a better match for you. Who knows? Maybe the stress of the PD would have catapulted you back to drinking nonstop. I knew a female dispatcher, and I interviewed her once, and she told me you have to have a personality with a hide of leather and you have to be able to detach yourself from people in pain, including the families of murder victims, etc., and if you make one mistake, the media eats you for lunch. I also know the pain you felt with all the interviewing, the time, the expense. I had a similar experience about two years ago...and I never thought I would recover. Well, I did and I am doing better than ever. Just wanted to let you know I've "lurking" and I've been in your corner the whole time.:l

Gotta get to the airport. Big hellos to Nora, Kradle, Zen, Fen, Dottie, and everyone else....hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday.

Hey Dottie, all I can say is I feel your pain. I had to upgrade to a new computer since Windows isn't supporting XP anymore and what a cluster F this new system is. I hate it and I usually try to look for the positive in things. What was wrong with Windows and Office before? Everything could be figured out and intuitive and now it's a colossal cluster F.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend and not sitting in front of a computer trying to figure out this complete BS operating system that used to be so easy to figure out. Microsoft be damned!

Back from the cabin and back to reality. I hate getting back into town after a quiet weekend. I feel like I live for weekends.

My state passed a gay marriage law, or rather, overturned the ban on it. We just found out yesterday, so Mrs. Fen is pushing for city hall first thing in the morning, before it gets repealed. I will keep you all posted.

alls I am so with u on this one. Major pain in the butt. My books came from Amazon today. Was surprised to see the post office truck today...
Fen good luck on getting to city hall. Better hurry before they change the law again. We have friends who went to Canada to get married then shortly after their state went legal...Hope it works out for you we all deserve to be loved and happy. I am not sure I will ever marry again. Way too much work....but to each his or her own...
Train meeting was good and I won something in the raffle.
Weather has cooled off so all the patio doors are open and it feels good. Planted the flowers and dug up lots and lots of weeds..where do they all come from..
Should get to folks house this week. Have a few contractors to call about the tile work. And anything else I can hire out....just too much for me emotionally....

Great weekend. Did a 5K today for ALS. Had a whole team for my m-I-l who passed away a few years ago from ALS. It was so much fun. Spent the afternoon in the pool. This evening looked at professional photos from EBs wedding, all 860 of them. Beautiful! Looks like everyone had a good time! Managed to get the day off tomorrow. I miss my Mondays off. Off to read a little while I can still keep my eyes open. Night all

We have been together for fifteen years, so I think it's about time we were able to be "legal". I have straight friends who have married and divorced multiple times in the time Mrs. Fen and I have been together.

What did you win in the raffle?
