Got a call from dh's daughter. She son and her mother are coming for a visit...yes her mom is dh's X. She will just stay one night on her way to visit some of her family farther north of here. They will stay a week....I could feel the anxiety mount almost instantly. The spare bedroom is a mess and so is the dining room...asked dh for help and he said i created the mess and I said if u want your family to visit u either help me or they can sleep on the floor...take your pick...so he helped. I wanted a drink so bad that it has bothered me all afternoon. Did manage to shovel out part of the room so far. Now I have this AND the rental house to deal with. I talked to one contractor today and he was a total jerk. Wanted me to pay him to come give me an estimate when I told him that was not an option he argued with me...what the hell is wrong with people..do they have so much work they can piss people off..I just don't understand people....

Mama, I have a feeling that all of your best efforts at creating a work ethic in Bri via osmosis will be for naught.

I hope you bosom feels better soon. I suggest asking your doc for a prescription for a lidocaine patch. They are awesome. My mom had some when she had pain from her bypass surgery. Please consider it.

My mom is a half time job. I ran her to her appt. today, then we stopped at Mounds on the way back to pick up some different wet foods to tempt her ailing cat with. I set up her two delivered meals for her, then ran to animart to get her cat one of those cat drinking reservoirs that feature moving water, as her cat likes water out of the spigot- and now that he has kidney disease, the more he drinks, the better.

Tried to trouble shoot her non-working central air, to no avail, so I called a repairman for her. Turned out she needed a new thermostat. I then gave her cat a sponge bath with a warm wash cloth and brushed him really well.

Stopped at the library, then the drug store to pick up Mrs. Fen's meds, stopped at the market, and now I am crumping.

Dottie - I'm so sorry. Eek! I would not even want to have somebody come into my mess right now much less stay. I can't believe your contractor problems. Honestly - pay for an estimate. I don't think so.

Fen - You are such a sweet daughter. :h I know it's hard but it is wonderful that you are doing that for your Mom.

Mama - how are you feeling?

Kradle - so very happy for Matt! When are you going?

EW & Nursie - great to have you both here. We needed some new life around here.

So - this has been a crummy day! My gosh! From the moment I woke up until now, it has been one thing after another. Trying hard to look for the bright side but it's been hiding. :H
My niece's other side of the family are having many health issues all at once - Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt.
Broken hair dryer = BAD hair day (bright side - I'm old enough that it doesn't bug me as much)
Almost hit a car on the way to work (bright side - I stopped in time)
Greeted when I got in with a new computer monitor issue that they went ahead & set up before I got there (bright side - I fixed it)
Someone got my debit card info AGAIN - (bright side - I caught it right away because I'm so close to being overdrawn, I'm obsessive about checking)
Had a few words with someone at work (bright side - no biggie and we're fine now)
Many other issues at work (bright side - it's work, not personal - do not bring it home mantra)
Came home & grabbed my Kindle to curl up & read. It hadn't charged today and I couldn't get it to start charging. (bright side - plug strip had been turned off)

So - that was my day and now I'm going to do NOTHING. :H

Oh - Hubby & I are both going to quit drinking. So, he is being very supportive. That helps.

EW... good to see you posting! What's the news your end? I'm useless at FB recently so haven't been keeping ABREAST of things too well!

Mama... If you have to put an ace bandage around the girls, you must be in a fair bit of pain. Do you think another visit to the Doc? Did they x-ray already? (I swear girlfriend... you need to stop abusing those babies!) Do you have a sports bra? One of the big ones that covers half your torso?! If you have one of those old fashioned things it may be able to ease a bit of the discomfort with some padding inside. TMI I know. EW and FT... cover your ears! Just think "3 clasps" and leave it at that!

Nora... that was a crappy day all right... bummer. But you're still upbeat and still a trooper. I reckon we all need a vacation without our "real life" friends and family. Seriously! Some days I want to run... run for my life! Today was one. But I'll man (woman) up and get on with it... as we do... right? :l Good job with getting Scott on board with you... that will really help.

Fenny... I'm going to start calling you Turbo Fen. ) Your mum is lucky to have you... as are your clients... and Mrs Fen. And us, of course.

I visited the Ft. Lauderdale Water Treatment Plant when I was doing my I.D. Bachelors. I'm forming a picture of Niner's new digs but I have a funny feeling that the Cali water plants will leave what I saw in Broward in the dust. They are so environmentally aware up there in Cali, I'll bet it's totally cutting edge.

Octo-Orgy at Niner's Water Plant! YAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!!!!! Last in is a smelly fish.

I'm now between Mad Men 6 and OITNB 2 on Netflix. Can't remember the last time I watched telly. I think I might just trim that down to the bare bones and save some money on Comcast...

Zen - I'm OK. Had a blip but today is one week down again. I managed 10 months so kicking myself but there we go.

Morning EW and Mama.

Sorry to hear about the "blip" EW but glad to see you here... X They're a mad bunch on the thread, and they get up to some shennanigans, but they're a great group of folks in a crisis. How is little Miss EW doing?

I woke up freezing cold with feet cramps. Got up at 5.30, fed the cats, took potassium and a multi, filled a hot water bottle (in the summer in South Florida!) and went back to bed! :new:

I have a tiny bit of work to do but, apart from that, it's a "me" day today. Tanning salon, BHRT doctor, hair cut & color and a day off from the gym. I might get together with a pal for dinner, will text her in a bit.

How is your chest today Mama? It's a horrible area to have pain as it's almost impossible to isolate and not move unless you stay in bed. I was joking about it but it's really not funny! I hope you're feeling better... :l:l:l
