One Step at a Time - June 2014

Hey Nursie - so glad to hear about your Dad's cancer not spreading. :l Also, good for you for just getting right back on the wagon. :goodjob:

Liz - Hawaii sounds fun for their honeymoon. :h I am 55 years old and I got my first tattoo 2 years ago. I am thinking about getting another one.

Just got home from work and then the chiropractor so I need to take care of some stuff before I sit down. I will be back.....................

      Hello!
So I got the Up bands for hubby and I and I'm so excited. I've been fiddling with setting goals and seeing all the functions.
It told me I slept 8 hours and 25 minutes and woke up 3 times. Apparently I also took 25 steps during the night (back and forth to pee!) lol
I was planning to get a tattoo for my brother but I don't know when.
I'm staff alllll day today. Hopefully I will have time to check in later.
      Have a delicious day!
      Day 1 again 11/5/19
      Goal 1: 7 days :heartbeat:
      Goal 2: 14 days :happy2:
      Goal 3: 21 days :happy2:
11/27/19: messed up but back on track
12/14/19: bad doozy but back on track

      One day at a time.

Hey all, damn Nursie,i wish i could sleep for 8 hours and 23 minutes haha i'm jealous,my body just loves it's 6 hours,i've tried staying up later, melatonin, etc, that 3 a.m wake up call happens daily, sometimes i can drift off again other times not, those bands sound pretty cool, very motivational,i still just have the generic old pedometer i sometimes wear, youngest daughter is going to Seattle tomorrow for 10 days,i guess she's gonna see Michelle(who by the way wants to get a tooth peircing!)and hang with her for a bit,any of you ever take theanine?supposed to be good for nerves but i feel like it makes me worse,i'm trying to find a good, otc nerve pill,i have my script but i refuse to take too much of it,anyhoo hope everyone has a good Tuesday, much love ladies and gents
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

One Step at a Time - June 2014

Morning/afternoon (as the case may be!)

Shame about all the rain at the weekend fenny. I spent most of the winter complaining about the amount of rain we were having (it was the wettest winter here since records began), but I wouldn't mind a shower or two right now to cool things off a bit and freshen up the garden.

Sorry about the migraine niner, get well soon.

How is your chest pain mama? Are you off the pain pills now? Speaking of pills, how did your inspection with Phil go? :H

Good to hear your dad's cancer hasn't spread nursie, you must be very relieved about that. Don't worry too much about your blip with the drink, as EW said the important thing is that we learn from our mistakes. Those UP bands look very interesting. Can they be connected to a PC?

You waited a long time to get your first tattoo Nora! I'm 51 and don't have any tatts. Actually, there seem to be quite a few folks in their early to mid 50s here, not quite sure what if anything to read into that.

Pauly, MonaCat started a thread today about a book she said helped her with sleeping issues. Perhaps it could help you too? I'm afraid I still use beer to help with sleeping.

Zenny - how are you getting on with the whore moan doc's HCG/protein diet?

Good going on retaining your interest in the World Cup EW. It's been quite interesting so far from a neutral's point of view. It was a shame for our friends across the pond that the US couldn't hold on to beat Portugal, but a draw was still a pretty good result, I reckon.

Missed the footy last night to go swimming. I didn't go swimming at all last week because of the World Cup and was feeling a little guilty about it. A fair few of the regulars were absent, so maybe I'm not the only one having to make a choice between swimming and the World Cup.

Amy is showing signs of being on the mend, touch wood. I was supposed to be leaving today for a short hiking/camping trip in Wales, but didn't want to leave my elderly mum (she'll be 80 next month) with the responsibility of looking after Amy while she still has a slightly dodgy stomach, so the trip has been postponed for a week.

I spotted a couple of lamb's hearts in the supermarket this morning and bought them out of curiosity, never having eaten them before (apologies to the vegetarians and vegans here). Need to work out what to do with them now.

              Hi Everyone!
Nora - Thanks for checking on me yesterday! I had a migraine for 2 days...plus Sunday I was actuallly cooking dinner (WTF?) and I burned the hell out of my hand and thumb. That's it...no more cooking or exercise, they are too dangerous! LOL

I just took a spider outside and people look at me like I'm weird, you'd think they'd be used to my shenanigans by now.

Nothing in writing about my new job yet...good lord...I know exactly where it's "hung up" too...there's a lady in HR that does nothing but play Solitaire all day. She's had the requisition on her desk since last Thursday!

I need to read back and see what y'all been up to.

              Back later...love you guys!

Reccy - I was just thinking about Amy today. Glad she is getting better. Are you on a swim team?

EW - how are you doing?

Pauly - I just can't survive on such a little amount of sleep. I don't know how you do it. :l

Whoops - got to run. LOVE & HUGS TO EVERYONE!!!! Have a fantastic day. :h

Quick check-in from me... I'll be back to post properly later.

My darn air conditioning is broken and it flooded the garage including a big rug that's out there... presently waiting for the a/c guys to arrive. And one of the cats got sick on the bedroom rug. "Always something"... as Dotts would say! You wouldn't want to be a rug in this house today.

                  Be back in a bit.

                    Hey everyone!

Just came in from a lovely walk in the sunshine to watch the football.

                    Nursie that is good news!

Reccie - glad Amy is doing better. How old is she now?

Nora - I'm doing well thanks. Keeping busy and just got myself a new book so excited to start that tonight in bed (oh what an exciting life I lead!)

I have a nike+ pod thing for my trainers but would love a fitbit too. Can only get excited about exercising at the moment If I have a new gadget

                    Hope everyone else is good.

Nursie… Good job getting straight back on the horse and great news about your Dad. Never heard of the “up bands”… will have to Google.

Mama… Belated Happy Anniversary and how’s your chest doing?

Reccy… Yeah, the reggae singer was really good! How is Miss Amy doing today? Re the diet… I just started it today, they were running behind with the supplies. I’ll keep you posted! (Yeuch on the hearts btw!)

Nora… The meeting Saturday was useful and the party after was a lot of fun. We’re going to start doing more events in the neighborhood (although we’ve said that before and nothing ever came of it!). They’re doing a 4th of July BBQ but I’ll be out of town then.

EW… I’m an OITNB fan too… well worth watching.

Fenny… Bummer on the washed out weekend… hopefully you at least got a few good naps in!

Liz… I don’t think you’re too old for a tat. No tats on me either, although I’ve thought about getting something small like a Scottish thistle and if I could make my mind up I don’t think I’m “past it”! (I’m 51.)

Dotts… Ouch on the RV bill. I’m sure I’m not going to be smiling either, when I write the check for the a/c people later today.

Pauly… I’ve taken theanine but didn’t really feel any calmer! GABA is meant to be good for anxiety too… I think it works better than the theanine for me.

Niner… You’ve been in the wars! Stay the HELL away from that cooker! (Doubt you’ll have to be told that twice!) And YAYYYYYYYYY on getting “our” start date. Finally, you know what your future holds!

So I'm still waiting for the a/c people... I hope they're not going to be too frikken late. No gym for me today I guess.
