Does anyone have any suggestions for getting out of debt? I am slowly sinking here...:flush:
I talked to a Credit Counselor and they suggested the following: 1) Find a cheaper place to live (yeah right, I live in CA!) 2) Get a second job or 3) File for bankrupcy. None of those are gonna happen.
I'm thinking I may ask one of my uncles to co-sign a personal loan...they have EXCELLENT credit...but I'm just scared to ask....:bigcry::heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Thanks Dots! I really don't have any extra expenses...when I do shop it's at the thrift store...we don't take vacations, hell we don't even leave town. I already turned off the Cable. I guess our only luxury is our cellphones (and mine is a brick that is breaking...) Where else to cut? I buy groceries at the 99c store...UGH. I drafted a pleading email to my Uncles, can't decide whether to send it. I have always done things on my own, they know I'm not just a moocher, I've been raising a child alone for 16 years...
Sorry, I am having quite the pity party today. :boohoo::heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

I vote for sugar daddy!!!
Send the email honey. All he can say is no. My own (wealthy) father said no to me and our house is in pre-foreclosure. (that's a whole new thread)
Bankruptcy has saved many people and I personally don't see the harm in it IF you don't go buy a bunch of stuff and then just not pay for it. If you are truly struggling and cannot make ends meet, you may want to consider that.
One of the reasons my drinking escalated was due to heartbreak of losing my house, but I have finally reconciled myself that my home is where my family is.
It will all work out babe. I would send you a pot of money if I had it❤️I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Hey All,
Finances are difficult because there is a certain personal attachment to it. Very good advice provided.
Cash is definitely the best way because you see the money going out and it makes you think whether you really need it or not AND if you don't have the cash you don't make the purchase.
I've started to look at buying things as if I'm going to move soon. Do I need this? Do I want to move it? Will I use it in 12 months? If the answer is no to 2 out of 3 the purchase doesn't get done. I'm up to my gills in junk I don't need or use and not interested in acquiring more.
I know my situation is not the same as others but accumulating debt in the past always meant buying stuff I never needed, never used, and always wound up throwing away. Suze Orman always had excellent advice.2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.

K9, we had to file bankruptcy TWICE,the first time we were living in Utah, raising 4 kids,on food stamps and just plain broke! second time was just bad shit piling up,i had co-signed a honda accord for my brother and he had it repo'd 2 months later,of course they came after me,good news is we've recovered from it now,it's embarrasing but it had to be doneI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:
I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

allswell sparked an idea in me...perhaps you should pretend you are moving, and have a garage/yard sale to get rid of stuff you wouldn't bring with you?
I go through my closets every six months and get rid of clothing I have not worn in a year. I also purge books that I have only read once and don't mind parting with, knick-knacks, canoes, etc...you get the idea.
It wouldn't be a massive amount of money (unless you have a massive amount of stuff), but it might help a little bit.
Also, as mama said, it can't hurt to ask your uncles.
Financial stuff sucks. :l

Good advice Fen,
I'm actually moving soon and dread the idea of moving all of the things I don't need, never needed, and never used.
I'm looking forward to living in the country where the accommodations are small and no room for non-essentials. Just looking to simplify!2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.
