One Step at a Time - June 2014
I have to head out to mom's shortly to get her shrubs clipped before it gets too freaking hot here! It's a job I hate, as her lot is huge, and the shrubs run the length of the yard. I don't like the electric clippers, as they make my arms numb, so I do it the old-fashioned way. Better load up on bug spray before I go...

Hi all,
Off to the rental house to do some work....hate it but must do it.
Laptop has been behaving badly so I might have to look around for another machine. Damn I hate to upgrade to new stuff but it might be time. I have a tablet but dont want to put financial stuff on that. Always something.
I have worked out most of my life too so I should be a svelte thing....NOT....like to eat too much...
Back later.

Morning all!
Boy you all made me feel better this morning!! Yep, looks like the gang of us should start planning to go to the Water Treatment Plant. I am going over there at lunch time today to hang out with the lady so she can "show me around the joint", as she puts it. LOL The good thing is it's away from City Hall...and right next door to the Library...my favorite spot (with the homeless people...LOL).
My mom and dad took me out to dinner last night and we had a nice long talk. They are very supportive in whatever I do, but I think they are relieved the PD fell through. Honestly, it would have taken SO much of my time, and then when I was off, I would have been exhausted. Maybe a nice chill job at Water is what I need instead...and the hours of 7am-3:30pm are nice too. That lady basically just does whatever she wants over there, I think it would be pretty easy. AND the best part is I can still hang out with you guys all day! That would NOT have happened at PD...
I do appreciate the offers to kick some ass...I will help!
The questions were very weird. Some had to do with seeing "visions" or hearing "voices". Others had to do with my appetite. A lot were about how I perceive people, like "Most people will stab you in the back to get ahead"...well I put False on that one, I do not want to believe that of people. In thinking back, maybe my attitude is too positive, maybe they want someone a little more jaded!:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Oh and the last 40 questions were open-ended like:
Rebellious teenagers ___________________________
I get angry when _______________________________
Most people think Black people are _________________
(they asked this one of Black, Hispanic, Asian and White)
Like I said, maybe I seemed out of touch with reality because I choose not to think the worst of people.......or not...whatever. I am kinda over it already!:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Birthday tomorrow so I'm also in the Gemini column, we're not so bad are we?
K9, when I read some of those questions you were asked I just get more pissed at the reasoning behind those tests, they're just total bullshit. Glad you're able to move on.2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.

FT and Alls, the remark was not meant to be derogatory to gems...Dottie and I are also Geminis! The issue is with mama's co-worker, Bri...she is a pain in the ass drama queen, and she is a Gemini. Hence my utter disappointment! :H

Jeez Pauly...that poor little girl, maybe she was taking the banana for a reason...like she's hungry?!! Some people treat their kids so badly! Sierra is doing great, she got home at 3am today...I haven't had much time to talk to her yet, but she says she had fun and she's super glad to be home. She missed her little demon dog. She said 2 weeks with Nana was a trying experience. LOL:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Geminis are brilliant and versatile. :H
K9, glad that Sierra is home safe and sound.
I was at mom's place for hours. The first "trim" of the season always takes forever. After, I raked and bagged up all the trimmings from the shrubs and hauled them to the yard waste place. While I was trimming, a guy I grew up with (same class) was visiting HIS mom across the street- he hollered over "You'd better take a break- you're not a spring chicken any more!" Harrumph! I am certainly "springier" than he is! I told him I do pretty good for an old gal.
Frankly, I don't feel old. I still move easily and can accomplish a lot.
Anyhoo, no sooner did I get home, than mom's food CSK arrived- Community Supported Kitchen meals. They don't deliver as far east as her home is, so I grabbed the food and brought it to her place. This was my mother's day gift for her. Two meals a week for a month, to see if she likes it. If she does, I will continue to pay for the meals. They are veg heavy, which I was afraid would be a turn-off for her, but she seemed excited. This place cooks the way I do...from scratch. Her meals this week were 1. Lo mein noodles with stir fried vegetables and hot/sour soup. Meal 2. is Green garlic soup, pita bread and hummus.
I have to say, she has an adventurous spirit.
