    Sunflower is one year AF today

    Sunflower has officially announced that she is one year AF and sober today. I say officially because she has been quite tough on herself about her quit date - preferring to mark today rather than in March 2013 - when she did stop drinking AL.
    As she has shared with us, she see's her quit as when she had that 'aha!' moment and stopped struggling with AL.
    Its not just been about ditching AL but for SF a year of intense reflection and growth.
    (and moving to a new condo with some strange pool inhabitants:H).

    So well done girl!

    SF.......well done on 12 months af......you have done well...remember when you first started..and to put it mildly ..you are a brill example of never giving up..a few false starts...but you persevered and came good . ..and all this with some non related issues going on too :goodjob:

    af since the fourth of July 2012...howzat then America..now proudly marching into year 12

      SF, great work! Our attitudes toward quit dates are interesting. One date I have in my head is in June, not the September date in my signature. That was when I decided I really did not want to drink any more, and was willing to keep fighting until some combo of strategies worked. I got there, and I'm grateful.
      My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

          No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.
