    Sober Julyans- Assemble!

Tomorrow begins a new month, July! Who's going to commit to rocking it sober?

    Sober Julyans- Assemble!

I'm staying sober, no doubt about it.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Sign me up. Will report in when I can -- internet access is limited due to lots of hiking and camping in national forests.

I'm here after going AWOL for the end of June. Still sober, still ready to rock.

              Hi, Julys:

The third today. For those in the US we're heading into a BIG drinking weekend. What are your sober plans? We are having a bbq with a lot of teenagers - reason enough to stay sober. I am focusing on cooking delicious food and enjoying day. Hope you are all well.

In London 4th July is no big deal. My plans for the day are to go to hospital to get dressings changed, even though I now have no breast I have another infection there !! I really know how to rock! Also still trying to sort out pain relief. Also tomorrow I am going to be careful with my thoughts as lately I have got frightened, really scared about my cancer and that fear will not help me heal. I am scared about chemotherapy but it does not start yet. Also I have got some strength from the holistic section of this website re chemo. I am so glad that I no longer drink or want to drink, that gives me some freedom.
Love to all and stay sober and safe on 4th July xxxxx

DD, I am so sorry that you are having to experience this pain and this fear. Life can be tough enough without any of these other problems. I recently read Wayne Dyer's new book "I Can See Clearly Now". Interesting read, at least for me.

Please get better soon, and in y opinion, you are fully justified in your fear. Ur it sounds like you are doing really well in accepting it.

Peace to you and your family.

                        Dear DD,
A quick note to let you know I am thinking of you. When I was going through my yoga teacher training, we did a brief section on yoga for people recovering from cancer. Some of the research on benefits of yoga for those with/had cancer is incredible. This might be something you want to look into more?

I am doing well and remaining AF. Really enjoying our time in the American West's wilderness areas.

                        Warmest,

                            Hi, Everyone:

This thread is even slower in July!

DD - sorry for your struggles and feeling down. SFx, you, too. I continue to be up and down and up and down, but feel so much better after about the 7 month mark (just the start of July).

FAL - good to hear of your adventures. A friend of a friend is solo hiking for a month on the John Muir trail. Pretty amazing for me to think of! I love hiking and your adventure sounds right up my alley...

                            Happy July 9, all.

Hi all, a quick check in from me. All is well and I continue to remain AF. We're hoping to start our 500 mile backpacking trip in the next week or so. Still doing lots of day hikes to acclimatize and get in better shape. No room for AL in this agenda.
