    Jumping July

The headline is so very misleading isn't it. Should've used a word other than recovery I think.

"While we have shown that paracetamol does not speed recovery from acute back pain,
there is evidence that paracetamol works to relieve pain for a range of other conditions,
such as headaches, some acute musculoskeletal conditions, tooth ache and for pain straight after surgery."

Have paracetamol manufacturers claimed that that the product will speed recovery?
It is purely an analgesic is it not?
It targets some areas and not others?.
Like so many other analgesics, NSAIDS etc some work for some people and not for others.
Not having a go at you Missy, am having a go at the misuse of the word "recovery" in the article.

That would be a fascinating area to visit Techie.

Common pain relief medicine for acute low back pain does not speed recovery – new research | The George Institute for Global Health

The article is just about back pain, but the person from the George Institute said they had similar findings for arthritis.

Rags - the point was that paracetamol is the most commonly described form of pain relief for arthritis - but Bridge (and many others) has not found it to be effective.
Thanks for that. I wonder how Panadol Osteo sales are going to go after this???
            Quite liver toxic anyhoo.

Find that a combo of Ibuprofen and Voltaren do the trick, but Jeez do they tear a girl's stomach up if over used.

Planning on giving glucosamine and chondroitin a bit of a crack. Will let you know but not expecting fast results.

                  Morning Undies.

Bridge the Lamp makes a turmeric type tea each morning, if we had room I let him do a kombucha type set up, maybe after the renovation He has found it helped with the bone aches and pains after the Barmah Forest virus debacle and yep the glucosamine will take a little while to kick in so start NOW...

I'm catching up on stuff in bed, its Lamps day off and it is relaxing.
