Last time that I got my brows waxed, the woman laughed at my gray hair. She really got a giggle out of my eyebrows. :new:

            Mama - welcome home.:h

We just finished a HUGE dinner. Hubby barbecued. Corn on the cob, veggie chik' burger, veggie hot dog and skewers of mushroom, bell-pepper, and purple onion. We didn't have any squash this time. Hubby & son also had chicken, hot dog, and fish! What a meal. So, now it's veg on the couch for a bit. :H

I have read back And love all the ghost stories. And neenee.... How eerie and cool is that!
Fen, my heart is hurting for you and your mom but you are smart to be prepared. We spent a night around the bonfire at the the lake with our Besties talking about her ill father and what they need to do. It's morbid , but our parents are all about the same age and we are going to have to get each other through this.
I glad to be home. Bret loves the heat and the physicality of
The lake but I am bone weary. We drank and cooked out every night, and believe it or not.
The thought of a cold beer makes my stomach flop. It may get squirrely as the week goes on, but I have you to turn to.
                Safe travels Dots and Nursie.

                  Morning/afternoon!

Zenny, that was a really interesting story about your ghost! I'm not surprised you wanted to get shot of the house after those spooky goings on! It sounds like a pretty awful experience you had in Italy. Was it bob's death that prompted you to finish with yachting or would that have happened anyway?

Did you start off with a bechamel sauce when you made your blue cheese sauce? I bought some really tasty Shropshire Blue and want to give it a try.

Hope you're having a good weekend at the cabin fenny. No cats or caterwauling to keep you awake there, I trust?

                  Safe travels dottie.

Have fun while you're away nursie. Is it a long way away?

Welcome home mrs bear. I hope you didn't read back too far...

I like the sound of your dinner/barbecue nora! Are you a vegetarian by any chance?

I'm a little bit concerned about Poppy, my 11 year old cat, at the moment. She hasn't been finishing off her food properly lately and I have a suspicion it may be chronic kidney disease. Hoping to get her to the vet tomorrow.

For once both the weather and the soil here are conducive to gardening, so I'd better get outdoors and make the most of it.

                  Have a great Sunday folks.

Oh feck Reccy... not happy to hear about Poppy... :upset: I hope she's OK. Let us know how the Vet visit goes. And what makes you think its her kidneys? My fingers and all other appendages are crossed for her and you both.

Welcome home Mama. :l It's been quiet around here without you and Niner. You'll be fine this week and you'll get back into normal mode... I'll be watching you!

How did the hair turn out Nora?

Hope Nursie and Dotts have fun on their trips.

Liz... I have nowt to comment on but hello anyway!

                    And :wavin: to everyone else.

Reccy, yeah, that was probably part of why I left yachting but the main reason was I was very tired. Being on call all the time takes it's toll. By the time I moved ashore I hadn't lived in a house for 7 years... we were constantly traveling with the boats... and I just got plain old exhausted. Most of my dreams involve yachting, it's still in my blood, I miss it but I like my home better. )

In other news... one of my new crowns is giving me problems. Looks like it needs a root canal. SO fed up of these freakin teeth of mine!

We went down to Life Extension and the Rustic Inn yesterday... had a fab feast of oysters, clams and king crab. So far today I'm slobbing and nursing my toofus. Just about to fire up Netflix and I'm saying "sod it" to the gym!

Hope everyone's having a good Sunday.

p.s. Reccy... I actually started it out a bit like a fondue... you know how I cook with white wine, well I boiled that down, added the cheese and didn't even use cornflour, it thickened itself with the mozerella. I'll be making it again, it was scrummy...

We r here. Arrived late last night. His son left flowers and fruit for us in our room. That was so nice of him. We meet up with him later. Really nice continental breakfast too. So far so good.

YAy Dots. Sometimes the things we dread end up being nice.
Zenny I am so sorry I didn't comment on the death of your friend and your attempts to save his life. What a horrible experience and then, to be cuffed and hauled off. Good Lord.
I read back Beloved Mr Bear......are you referring to vibrators, etc!!
When I have a little extra money, it's time to invest in a new one:H
Speaking of money, I just spent 400 at the grocery on a few things... No meats, just cleaning supplies and household stuff. Groceries are ridiculous now!
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

That's a real pain in the bum about your tooth. zenny. It's no wonder you're fed up. I actually have no idea what a root canal is, but it sounds horrible! :upset:

Yep, being on call all the time certainly does take it's toll and you can never relax properly, can you? I did it for maybe 3 years. It's a bugger being woken at 3am when you still have to get up for work the next morning.

The reason I thought poppy might have a problem with her kidneys is because CKD is extremely common in older cats. My parents once lost a cat to the disease and it was her reduced appetite that initially prompted them to take her to the vet. There may be absolutely nothing wrong with poppy or it may be something completely different, but I need to find out what's going on. If it is CKD, then the earlier it's picked up, the better the prognosis.

Your sauce recipe does sound really scrummy. I may have to try a different approach though as the last couple of times I bought wine for cooking it got used for "other" purposes.

:hallo: dottie. Glad your trip is getting off to a good start.

Yes mama, I did mean the vibrators, your sexy dancing, and the rest of it!! :H

Ouch on the grocery expenditure! :upset:

At emergency vet. My retarded cat has two loops of dental floss hanging out of her butt hole. She seems fine, but better safe than sorry.
