Bwahahaaa!!! Too funny Mama! 170 is not exactly obese ya know!

I've missed a load of stuff on the old thread but I don't have time to read back... :upset: Excuse my lack of manners!

I'm in the throes of getting ready for heading up to Charlotte, NC tomorrow... we'll get there roughly the same time as bloody tropical storm Arthur... "always something" ADWS (as Dotts would say). I'll have my laptop with me but there's no free wi-fi in the room... I'll hopefully get online at some point as keeping up on the phone is nigh on impossible with this chatty bunch!

Off to start packing... not one of my favorite things but I swore I wasn't going to leave it till last minute this time.

I hope everyone is well. I'll be back a bit later! X

Pauly, I had a neighbor a few years ago who was barking late one night. They left him outside while they were out. I actually went outside to see if I could calm him down, petting him through the fence and talking soothingly. Next day or neighbor informed us that while they were out someone had cut the wires to his alarm and tried to pry the lock. I probably scared them away when I came out. Just call the cops fen, you never know why they're barking!

Niner, you said you'd never be constipated again after those chia seeds...not sure that's what Dottie should spring on them right off the bat, although they will be using dh's bathroom....:H

About the barking dogs...I think the neighbor is still in the restaurant biz, so she leaves early and doesn't hear the dogs barking, although I have left "neighborly" notes in the past informing her that they do. The dogs never go out for walks, so they are bored out of their gourds. When their people pack isn't there, they bark incessantly. This has been a forever problem with this particular neighbor. This is why I hate living in town.

Dottie, I'm glad you have a meeting to keep you busy tonight. :h I wondered if maybe the ex and daughter were having nerves last night...I imagine that goes both ways.

Mama, you weigh as much as Mrs. Fen...that's not obese! :l

Zenny, have a good time, and dodge that danged storm! :h

Lizann, "TTFP" means "Take the fucking pill", as in antabuse. I too will be "TTFP" when Mrs. Fen heads off to Wyoming in two weeks. She is my compass and when she is gone, I struggle.

Well. What a day. I called our exterminator guy for the cabin to come and spray for carpenter ants. He returned my call, saying he wasn't sure he'd be able to get down in the valley, and to call back and let him know if my property was accessible. Well, touch me in the morning and then just walk away! I found out this morning there was a tornado one mile away from my cabin!

I drove out there to check things out. Trees were snapped, chicken coops were swept off their foundations, power lines were down...but my cabin was untouched. One side of the gravel drive was washed out a bit...but I trimmed a bunch of branches on the other side of the drive so the bug guy can get his vehicle down there. Just left him a message giving him the all clear.

After, I stopped at mom's to give her cat his med...I thought it would be a brief visit and that I would get all the rest of my errands done today. Nada. When I got to mom's she informed me that she thought there might be a mouse nest in her glove compartment...and an old trash can in her garage smells really bad.

Those who have known me for a while have heard me bitch incessantly...umm...I mean, wax on about my mom's borderline hoarding disorder. One of her weak spots is her garage. Mrs. Fen and I had a dear friend paint her home and mend and paint her garage five years or so ago. We cleaned the garage out so nicely, but my mom filled it up with crap again before you could say "boo".

She has a narrow aisle she can drive into, while the walls on the front and sides are loaded with trash cans, buckets, picnic benches, plastic tarps on the floor, plastic planters, various garden tools, trash...you name it.

I backed her car out of the garage and opened the glove compartment. Oh yeah...chewed up registrations, insurance cards, anti-septic towelettes...you name it. I pulled it all out, but it didn't seem to be a "full" nest. I cleaned out her garage. Some rotten siding boards at the end of the garage was the entry/exit point. I went to Home Depot and got some plywood, a saw, some nails and some mouse poison. I cut the boards to cover the entry points and nailed them shut. Took all her old garbage cans, hose reels, junk in general to the dump.

I explained to her that we need to make her garage mouse "unfriendly", by not having a ton of crap in there for them to nest in.

                              It took hours.

My only consolation is that she is now too frail to fill up the empty spaces again, like she did after my friend made it so nice.

Oh Fenny. That must have been so frustrating. You are such a good daughter. You really are.
We are still sorting through all of Pops stuff..... I read that as some people age, they tend to hoard.
I am so glad the cabin is ok!! Wow
It's hot as hell here and I am flopping to eat and watch Greys Anatomy.
                                Hope all is well Dots.
Hey Liz! We started teasing Nora a while back and told her to TTFP!!!
