One Step at a Time - July 2014
Afternoon!
Sorry about the headache mrs bear. :l
Good to hear your son is well again nursie and that you enjoyed the BBQ.
Well done on getting yourself to the clinic nora, I hope the medication makes you feel better quickly.
My knee is better than it was, thanks for asking, though it might be a week or two before I can walk without discomfort again. Unfortunately I can't rest it fully as someone wants to be taken for walks every day!
Sorry you had a crappy day on Friday fenny. Driving long distances isn't a whole lot of fun at the best of times and restrictive speed limits can make for a very frustrating journey. It's really not good enough for mrs fen to put you in a situation where you're surrounded by so many people drinking. Being a major introvert myself, I can totally understand how uncomfortable it must have been with all those people there. You seem to have a lot on your plate at the moment and it's a shame your sister can't or won't share at least some of the burden.
I'm sorry about your mum nora. My mum will be 80 in a couple of weeks and she's fortunate enough to be in excellent physical health, but the time will inevitably come when she will need a lot more help.
Dottie, I think there are lightweight plastic razors you can buy that don't carry too much risk of breaking when dropped. I suppose a cheap disposable plastic razor is out of the question?
Glad you had an enjoyable weekend liz, it sounds as though it was a productive one too! Good going on getting the spare room painted. :goodjob:
:hallo: kradle and anyone else around.
Part of the natural stone wall separating my house from the pub next door suffered some kind of dislocation while I was in Wales. It would appear that the damage was caused by the roots of a tree immediately adjacent to it on the pub side. I took it up with the owner and he said he was already intending to remove the tree as part of a redevelopment project they've got planned, so at least that's one part of the problem dealt with. It will very likely be necessary to get someone in to rebuild that section of the wall once the tree has been removed, but I'm not actually sure who owns the wall and I suspect the title deeds to my property won't provide much clarification. Something tells me the pub owner is much less bothered about the damage than I am, so I can see myself having to foot the bill if I want something done about it. :upset:
Have a great week everyone!

Dh was able to fix the razor. Dad was happy but then started harping on wanting money again.he brought it up so many times that the last time I just got up and said we had to go....
Dh wont discuss Alzheimer's. He makes a joke about it but this is really concerning to me....between my dad and hubby I want to run away sometimes...
Taking one of the doggies to the vet..she is not eating and I sure dont want to be days away and find out she is sick...so preemptive vet visit....

Hello lovies,
I had a good day back to work but then... Drama with the stepdaughter. Her mom kicked her out and locked her out of the house. She kicked her cat out too. So I had to go pick up the stepdaughter and the cat. Psychosis at it's finest!Day 1 again 11/5/19

Hello everyone!
Alls - how are you doing?
Reccie - I was hoping that your knee would be all better today. :l Tell Amy to walk slow.
Mama - I sure hope that you feel better. :l I hope that I didn't get you sick! Would have pissed me off having hubby bring home that Crown Royal.
Zen - welcome home! Get some rest. :h
Dottie - hope your doggie is all better tomorrow. It's so sad when our 'kids' don't feel well.
Liz - how did shopping go with CJ? How are the honeymoon couple doing? Did they have a marvelous time???? I was so disappointed to hear that the movie Tammy was awful. I just love Melissa McCarthy)
Pauly - WHERE ARE YOU????? :h

Thanks, Nora...
My mom was given a place of honor in the family line-up today. She is the only remaining sibling. :h
I told my youngest cousin's wife about the story of my auntie and my mom...their mom died tragically in a house fire. Grandmother died as a result of burns she sustained from rescuing my infant mother from the fire. :upset: Imagine that sort of guilt hanging over my mom's head all her life.
The nuns took care of my mom from the age of 8 months, when their mom died, until she was two years old...they told my grandfather that if he would not take my mom back, they would adopt her out. He asked my nine year old auntie what they should do...and she said to "bring her home."
My aunt was only nine years old, and she took all that responsibility on her young shoulders. There was a twenty year old cousin who helped out for a year, but after that? It was my aunt Kay, only six years older than my mother, leading the family.
I am so pleased that when mom and I visited my aunt the last time, my mom thanked her for "keeping" her. And in doing so, keeping their family together. My aunt, always humble, said "Well, I never thought of it that way...but, I guess I did keep the family together!"
It was so hard to see my mom melt down in front of the casket today...but, my aunt was not only a sister, but nearly a mother to my mom.
Tomorrow is the funeral at Saint Bridget's. How many baptisms, weddings, funerals have I been to at that church? It is where my mom's mass will be said, and she will be buried there, too.
I love you all.
What a hard day.

Oh my dear friend.......that is a beautiful story but so heartbreaking. Your aunt was a remarkable woman. I am so glad that your Mom was able to see her and thank her one last time.
Please get some rest tonight. Tomorrow is going to be so hard on you. :h:h"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett
