One Step at a Time - July 2014

Thanks Dottie! I missed that about K9 being sick. Now, we just need to find EW.

Oh & Mama - that still would have pissed me off that hubby brought home a bottle of Crown and locked it up. Why does he need to drink at home????????

                  Yaaay Niner is here!
Fenny, she is 15. She has bipolar disorder and so does her mom. It's a really tough situation.

                    Hiya!

I'm glad your aunt's funeral was so well attended, fenny. It sounds as though it was a very moving occasion. I always think tears are a good thing at funerals - wouldn't it be sad if someone died and no-one shed a tear? You've had a tough time these past few days, I hope things will be a bit easier for you now.

It's great that you returned home to a tidy kitchen after all the effort you put into cleaning it before you went away, zenny. You've obviously got bill well trained! Did you get your flights home sorted? How long do you plan to stay with your mum for?

The feedback from vet sounds reasonably encouraging dottie, how is your doggie today?

That's shite about your headache mama. It's not normal for a headache to go on for so long. Not taking the meds seems like a sensible thing to try, but you may need to stay off them for a few days to give your body enough time to properly flush them out of your system. When are you on vacation and where are you going?

I'm in my fifties too, fenny and I do agree with you about the amount of time it can take to recover from minor injuries. I guess we need to try to take more care of our bodies as we get older and avoid injuries in the first place, if possible. Zenny, thank you for your suggestion yesterday - I went to Boots this morning and bought a knee support. Do you want to see if you can play a word? Our game was in danger of expiring last time I checked cos we've both been away.

Nora, I'm not surprised you're worried about your mum. How old is she now? You must feel frustrated being so far away and unable to help as much as you would like. Does your brother have to go out to work or can he mostly stay at home to keep an eye on your mum? I hope her doctor's appointment today goes well.

Glad your stepdaughter is going back to her mum's nursie. I must admit my initial reaction on hearing what had happened was to wonder what the cat had done to deserve being kicked out! Poor thing must be getting confused by now! Sorry about your son's meltdown, you certainly have your hands full at the moment.

                    :hallo: niner.

Apologies to those I haven't managed to mention. Hope everyone's having a happy hump day.

One Step at a Time - July 2014

So after reading back I am thinking that Mama does not believe I had the stomach bug. Ok fine, maybe I had more of a case of 'Tucky-itis...but at work I will stick to the "bubble gut" story. LOL :H Friday is my last day here so I don't really give a rats arse. HA

I was supposed to go talk to my uncle last night about co-signing, but he texted me and told me they had to put their dog to sleep yesterday, she was old and had many many issues, but I know my Aunt was a mess. I went through it a year ago myself (and the year before that)...so I hope to talk to him Friday. My phone is ringing off the hook with creditors...I am trying to just ignore them for the next couple of weeks.

Mama - you need some book recommendations? I have two for you "Summer House with Swimming Pool" by Herman Koch (REALLY good), "Team Seven" by Marcus Burke...haven't finished this one yet but I read about 150 pages of it yesterday...

Okay...my "boss" just came in. Guess I will attempt to look busy. Back later peeps!

ouch Nursie..that's a tough situation...BOTH of them are bipolar?? My mom and I almost killed each other on a daily basis and neither one of us was bipolar......
Hey Niner.....hope your tums is better. Maybe you lost some weight??
Pennsatucky is kissing my ass so much it hurts, Fen. The days are more pleasant, but I will not let my guard down. She even asked for permissio0n to go to lunch!!! What the???????
So my doc said the iron is not causing the headaches....it must whatever the pill is mixed with. I told her all I know is my head was banging for the last two days and today it's not, so we need to come up with another option.
Fenny - how is your Mom today?? And Nora, let us know about your Mom, too.
Work out some for me Dots...
did I tell ya'll I am off next week??
We are going to the lake house. Bret has all these projects planned and I insisted on some "real" vacation time, and he surprised me by booking two nights on the beach in St Augustine!!!!

Nora, he likes bourbon on Date Night. And, to be honest, after my DUI, his hauling me to and from work for two years, rebuilding my car and all the other shit I have put him through, I guess I feel guilty.
Plus, he locks up the booze. But I do feel some deep resentment that it'd even in the house and I allow myself a pity party that I can be a problem drinker...it's not fair...wah, wah....
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Books noted K9...I added "Closed Doors" to my Nook this morning and another one by the same writer.
                          Sorry about your uncle's dog...sad....

If anything I gained weight Mama! We were out of town for 4 days and boy did I EAT and EAT and EAT...in fact I am starving right now because I got so used to 3 LARGE meals a day. LOL I am thinking Subway for lunch.

                            Dang phone...back in a bit.

Sorry I haven't commented on everyone's different situations, but I am thinking of you all!!! :h

Hiya luvvies, from a very stormy Boca Raton. My phone just went out after I was on a 1-800-WAIT for almost half an hour and I lost the bloomin call. Grrr?

Good to see you ?back? Niner! And I hear you on the eating? I ate my way through Charlotte while I was up there. What was the point in losing 7lbs before I left, dagnabbit? In fact I didn?t lose it, it just went on vacation for a few days and came straight back. (

I?m glad your headache has cleared up Mama. Hopefully the Doc will call in a new script for you and you won?t have to go back to her. I saw a very pretty picture of you on FB as I was making my way to see if Reccy played a word? :h

Reccy? I got my flights sorted. I?m going from 13 August to 3 September. ) How?s the knee today? I hope the knee support will help? I know how Miss Amy needs those walks of hers (so she won?t eat your house!) so we have to keep you mobile! I already played a word by the way? ?tis your turn.

Fenny? How are you and mum doing today? You really have had a tough time lately... maybe you can treat yourself to something nice? :l

Nora? And how did your mum?s Doc appointment go? I?m glad you got a laugh at the travelling knife! Reason I found it is I texted him going ?where?s me knife?!? and he told me it was in the middle of a book in his top drawer. Figure that one out! :H

Nursie? That?s an extremely difficult situation with your stepdaughter and her mother. Like Mama said, at that age daughters and mothers are always locking horns so I can only imagine. That poor cat must have to cover it?s ears with it?s paws!

Dotts? What is it with contractors and handymen? Need eyes in the back of your head dealing with them.

Pauly? I was wondering why you were so quiet. Rest up in bed luvvie? comfort food and movies, just what the Doc ordered on a rainy day.

:wavin: to everyone else! Hope I didn't miss someone.

I had the dentist this morning? next Monday will be my LAST visit? YAYYYYYY! I?m just about to brave the elements and go to the gym, I haven?t been in over a week. Then I have to do tax paperwork with Jim which is going to be long, laborious and boring? it will probably take the rest of the week? yuck. Like I said to Reccy, I got my flights booked, mum?s been notified and I?m looking forward to the trip? well, looking forward to getting there? the trip?s a nightmare! :upset: We live on an island 50 miles off the coast of Scotland and it?s a LONG haul from here to there with puddle hoppers and all sorts.

Righty-oh? gym followed by gross paperwork? really doesn?t sound like much fun to me to be honest.
