One Step at a Time - July 2014

K9, I bet your City Hall peeps will miss you. :h

Mama, I hope you have a nice time on your vacation!

Kradle, I'm glad you are having a good time with Matt.

Dottie, that's so nice that your doglets got to get out with other dawgs and hang out.

Nursie, that's so sad about your friend. Wow. Who on earth would let her baby-sit? That's so true what you said about being safe in your sobriety.

    Hi, Cori!

Nora, can you send me the vibrator joke? :H

Sunday morning and I'm early! Hate that.

Nora your vibrator post had me laughing!

Had wine at the bridal shower yesterday. Sadly back on day one. So tired of this! Feeling discouraged today. Why is this such a big freakin deal?

BBQ at church today. Looking forward to that cheeseburger. Then World Cup! Go Germany! Actually being tempted by hubby's beer. I never drink beer. Guess I'm just that desperate. Ok enough of this pity party. Sorry guys, thanks for letting me vent. I'll check in later.

Nettie - I had a coupon for my aluminum cans $2.12/pound. :goodjob:
I've been thinking about you so much. Actually was talking to my therapist about you yesterday. :H Mentioned what a wonderful friend you are and that we never would have met if we didn't have this 'problem'.

Woke up at 7:00 am on the day I could sleep in. AAARRRGGGHHHH

I told hubby that I don't want to do anything today. It's been a LONG, yucky week. Was busy all day yesterday. Today I am going to just read and lay around. :thanks:

Nora. laughing my buns off at that joke! :H

Actually, in the really "olden" days, doctors used vibrators on young female patients in their offices to relieve the symptoms of "hysteria" we ladies are so prone to exhibit. I imagine those ladies kept coming back (no pun intended)!

Dottie, I do the same thing you do, I expect. I get all stressed out before an event, trip, gathering, etc. I always imagine the worst possible outcomes, in part to "prepare" myself, I think. In truth, things nearly always go smoothly, or much more than I would have anticipated.

I was stressed about my family reunion yesterday, but had a great time. I think that nobody being able to drink made things tons better, and it was truly lovely to reconnect with so many family members.

The good thing about your trip with hubs is that you two are in control. You can arrive late, leave early. You can park your rv in the next county, if you like. You can flee the situation if it gets overwhelming and experience his family in small portions. The two of you can even take a couple of side trips to nearby attractions for a little romantic getaway. So, remember...you two decide just how much time, for how long. I think that would be empowering. :h

I found a relevant article concerning baby boomers and the burden of their parent's stuff- I sent you a link. Awesome article, with some good solutions.

                            Hang in there. :l

Oh my gosh - It's true!! "They were interested in a labor-saving device to spare their hands the fatigue they developed giving handjobs to a steady stream of 19th century ladies who suffered from ?hysteria,? a vaguely defined ailment easily recognizable today as sexual frustration." :H:H:H
