One Step at a Time - July 2014

Went to hospice to visit my friends dad..he looked horid,,jaundice etc so I think his body is shutting down...we are still trying to decide if we should leave on Tursday just in case he dies and they have the funerl then we woule fly out to dh's son's event...
AND I had another allergic attack today. I was working on the computer and started to itch...when I looked at my arm in the daylight I had blotches on both arms, legs, chest and back....I took 2 benedryl and went to see the doc....going to take pepsid and zyrtec together. They work on different allergic reactions...
    yet again always something..

Dottie, it does sound as though the end may be near for your friend's dad. Perhaps you should consider sticking around for a bit. :l

What on earth do you think caused that allergic reaction?

fen I have no clue on the allergic thingy....I think stress maybe...trying to do too much. The same think happened last summer when I had all the stress of moving dad to the nursing home, selling all their stuff and getting the house ready to rent.....since they couldn't figure any real reason that is my take on it..I looked horrid..

One Step at a Time - July 2014

My middle sister developed a kidney stone issue on Sunday night, and is crashed at my mom's with meds, waiting for it to pass.

My bro and his wife from Thailand are still in town, and I visited with them today.

While at mom's, I noticed that she is planning her funeral. I'm glad my sisters are there to assist, for a change. My aunt's funeral has inspired mom, and she is choosing music and readings. I hate to say it, but I really don't think she will hang in there a lot longer. Still, she had such a wonderful time on Saturday. She said she went from her lowest point (sister's funeral) to her highest point (family reunion) all in one week. She's been having a lot of laughs with all of us, which makes me happy. :h

Gah! I'm really sorry, Dottie. Stress can cause so many physical issues, can't it? :h

Stress really does weird things to our bodies.

Fen - I hear you about your Mom. My brother & I have been talking. He's worried that he won't tell me to go up there in time. I told him that it would just be a blessing if she passed in her sleep. It hurts and I'm really depressed but logically........that would be the best scenario. She wouldn't do well in the hospital because of memory issues. I just get sick to my stomach thinking about it. :upset:

Zen - I hope that you are feeling much better. Ouch on the dang teeth!

Reccie - I am Office Manager/Jack of all Trades at a manufacturing company. We make solenoids for the aerospace industry.

Hiya! Just now sat down. How are you doing Nora? Can't believe that Fen ratted you out! :H

I'm all ouchy with the toofuses, just took a pill and waiting for the results.

I made a good organic din-dins tonight, but I would have to secretly admit... I was very glad when they went home.

Liz... I'm not a runner, I wish I was. I'll live vicariously through you... ) I screwed my knee up a couple of years ago and I nurse it all the time. I do lift weights though and I can get a good sweat up that way. At this point I reckon if we're actively doing SOMETHING it's all good, you know?

I know - right?!?!? I thought we had sworn to secrecy and then she ratted me out.

You are very brave to make dinner after a dental trip!

You have to watch that skwerl Nora!

I'm surprised... I thought I was going to be in agony with the tooth work but so far so good! How is Scott doing? And yourself? And Mum? Getting old freaking sucks, doesn't it?

Have you tried Benadryl Dotts? If you take it at bedtime it gives you a really good night's sleep too... a win-win.
