Maybe we should work with her to fund our meeting place. Just a thought! All that complaining crap is not going to get us anywhere.

Roxy... the business side of me is starting to think this may boil down to putting one's money where one's mouth is. If one is not contributing towards this site then one doesn't have a damn leg to stand on at the mo... imho.
I can understand that RJ is stretched and I can also understand that she doesn't want to throw more money at this.
If she wants us to "kick in" then the easiest way of doing that, right as things stand, is to subscribe and send her some dollars.
My real feeling is nobody has the right to complain if she is literally unable to pay for us to have the privilege of speaking to each other.

I'm suitably humbled as it seems MWO has not been charging my bank account! I just checked the charges and they haven't been taking anything for my subscription.
Jeese Louise... seriously.
I still stand on what I said. RJ needs contributions. It's the only way we're going to be able to keep this site alive until she gets people advertising on here. I have a few ideas about that. I'm in the medical field and perhaps I can help.

Good Morning, OSAATers,
Do you mind if I jump on your thread for a minute?:
I, too have felt the frustration of not being able to log onto this site, and I agree wholeheartedly with what Zen said:
OK, how about subscribing? It's not been working too well lately as I gather, but I think that would be the best way for RJ to fund the site. It's only fair, right? We're using her site after all.
Just my two cents.
Back to you......:H

Although I don't lurk, read, or post much on this site anymore, it saved my life and I've made several good friends here. I am willing to subscribe. And for people who say they really can't afford the minimal fee, it's wayyyyy less than what you would spend on booze or ciggies in a month, isn't it???? The people on this site REALLY care for each other and the sense of community here far outweighs the other sites I've lurked on over the last 7 years. I've had a free ride here for almost 8 years....it's time to start paying back $$$.
Just my two cents.
Back to you......:H
Put your dollars where your mouth is! People freakin complaining,... really?
The long term members of MWO that can afford it.....................should.

RJ might want to give us a figure as to how much it costs per year to keep this site alive. I used to be pretty good at fundraising in my other career. ;-)

And that's what makes you special Rusty!
Sitting around complaining does not cut the mustard.
RJ and crew... I think some of us are willing to subscribe. I already have, obviously, but you are not charging me.
Hmmm..... you know what, people bitching about this.... not a good look on you.... really.

Yup, I can, and I will. Will make hefty donation if that will help short-term/long-term as far as keeping this miraculous site alive.

p.s. Hi Rusty! Good to see you. :l

Posted by Zen:I went off and though about it. I agree with Rusty.... what is it going to take? I'm available to work towards running this site. I have an attorney on hand. Here and ready!
Bye for now. Off to the gym.
I'll be back later, though.

I'll help you, Zen. I have the resources. Ahhh....I think we would make a wicked team. If we'd ever stop making each other laugh. Somehow I think you have a personality very similar to mine.:H It's great to see you, too.:l

when I first joined I decided to subscribe, thought it cheaper than what I spent on booze. I am not a long termer in the sense that many of you here are. I have found this site a godsend and glad to be supporting it and appreciate the diversity of folks here. If there is a complaint I have, it really revolves around the lack of communication when there are crisis. Spammers, logging on. These have taken a concerted effort to get responses. I know I'm walking on thin ice here. I don't wish to appear ungrateful because I know this is all volunteer work. I think it is in everybody's interest to be informed of what it would take. We all took a poll and really have not heard much since then of what it is going to take. I am more than willing to help but can't help an unknown.
