Techie it really sucks that someone betrayed your trust. Don't let one bad person destroy your faith in others though. Ultimately, we all know that anything we post here might as well be on the front page of the newspaper and that's a risk we take. I try and minimise it by being circumspect with the info I provide and only posting photos rarely and briefly etc but I'm sure I'm only six mouse clicks of separation from anyone who wanted to find me. The only thing that keeps me safe really is that I'm so boring I can't imagine why anyone would want to.

Happs I was just about to say it's blowing a gale here too, and then I realised that's because we're practically in the same place. D'uh!

Techie, I'm sorry to hear someone betrayed you like that. It really doesn't say much for their character if they've left someone who supported them hanging out there like that. I hope you can sort this out xx

Techie you are a good friend and thanks for the alert! I don't know whether you are interested but there is a bit shit storm in NZ politics at the moment about hacking, and DRM and how it can be used to manipulate public opinion - I only understand about 10 per cent of the technology !! I am careful about disclosing personal details here .... But in the end I am an everyday person doing an everyday job. If someone hacked into my posts and emails and threatened to expose me as an alcoholic I'd have to say " oh tell all my friends and family something they don't know already"

I'm really missing our cats and trying to think laterally about what I might do about that.

Also missing Angel :l

Rags must be just about due back too.

Three boys here Petrel. And a dog, two cats and two chooks. And a pretty cool husband. Pretty normal I guess.

The cold made one of our not so cuddly cats snuggle with me all day Missy, I think having them around is therapy, they're more cuddly lately than ever before in their lives, its quite strange.

Techie, now i get the picture. Thanks for the heads up. I didn't mean to make light of the situation. Geez, that would be devastating to have your trust betrayed like that. I'm putting myself in your shoes, as i have some folk who have become close friends here, and i'd be very pissed off if they used a trusting connection for a story on addiction etc the way you describe.

As far as my details/story goes, i'm not fussed, but I hope you don't let it stress you too much mate whatever the outcome. Take care.

Techie - sorry to hear that. I totally trusted someone years ago and that backfired badly. I'm no longer pissed off with them, I'm pissed off with myself for allowing that to happen. I guess I now post like an iceberg ...

Thanks Happy. I wish I had that sort of normal in my destroyed marriage. My soon to be ex wife is a serial cheat, no remorse, no morals. I'd like to think that this was abnormal, but the more I read about others in similar situations, the more I've concluded that infidelity is far too common.

Anyway, life WILL get better.

We kind of forget where we are here sometimes I think. It's a public forum. Any serial killer could be checking in, and anonymity is the name of the game. Sad isn't it? We think because our intentions are pure, so are other people's.

Agree with what Bridge says Petrel. That's a pretty crappy scenario. And you know, life will get better. I have a written guarantee the future is looking pretty damn good.

Now. Today I will NOT self distract by planning holidays I am not in a position to take. I will however spend some time sitting in the sunshine I do have and meditating on how bloody good it is to be alive.
