Hiya luvvies!

Sorry for the absence... it's been overwhelming around these parts. Convolutedly, (is that a word?) I have a wee break now that Bill has arrived... him and my mother have been yakking in the sitting room (he can talk... he's a lawyer!). Jim is out walking Jack and I have a blessed half hour to myself, I've just booked a hotel for us in Edinburgh for Monday night. Need to find one in Glasgow for Tuesday then it's off back Stateside. We're going to my cousin in Edinburgh for dinner on Monday. (May get fed by the one in Glasgow on Tuesday!) :H

It's always too short when I come home... 3 weeks sounds like a long time but it goes past in a flash. Wish we were staying longer to be honest.

Done a few more walks/hikes and even had a couple of sunny days but it's back to rain today. We're supposed to be going out on a boat tomorrow, weather permitting. It's "wellie weather" for sure now though, so we'll see how the seafaring conditions are tomorrow.

It's been a bit sad seeing how quiet the town is. The bad economy has really taken it's toll. Quite a lot has changed since I was here last year, businesses shutting down. The island is beautiful of course, but I just wonder where all the people are??? They must do a lot of TV watching. It's a different type of life, that's for sure. I don't think I could ever settle here, it's so quiet. If you didn't know people you'd be bored stiff. I reckon 2 weeks on 2 weeks off would be perfect for this environment! Like the oil rigs.

OK, now I'm rambling...

Back at home, things are more on-line with my Mum... finally. She has loads of new pain management pills/gadgets/patches and a lot of new resources. She has a stack of Doctor appointment letters that have arrived in the past few days. It's been great getting it sorted out.

I'll try and check in later... if I get a chance. Maybe having the extra person here will take the heat off me for a day or so. Fingers bloody well crossed!!! :H

Bill is there?? And Jim?? YOU HUSSY :H:H:H I am SO jealous!
basically my throat is a wreck, but healing. All the infection is gone, but the is still a lot of swelling and mucus (yuK), thus the pain and fatigue. So....no more antibiotics, but steroids and nasal spray.
We are planning a low country boil for Clay's birthday party.....shrimp, red potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage, seafood seasoning and crab claws (if I can afford them.)
Boil everything up, dump it on a table covered with newspaper, and let the boys pig out!

YAY for my happy friends, and boohiss for my sad ones....
Bri has popped in the last few weeks.....she is really big...it's a boy...remember Jack in the Box....
I doubt she'll make it more than a few more weeks.

I am once again a beautiful redhead and have orange/red toes too. Nice peaceful afternoon.
We are going to a Mexican restaurant with friends later so that should be fun.
It is still in the mid 90's bleh......

Hi all - I am home from work - Dottie I so understand the retirement thing - Hubs retired nearly two years ago and I went part time a few weeks ago - I love being around hubs more but would LOVE to come home to an empty house just ONCE He will not go out until I get home as he hates to put the dog in the crate - we have one that chews so he has to go in the crate when we go out, although now he has gotten older I do not think he will chew - I just would love to come home to an empty house ......but apart from that I am really enjoying being around hubs more which SO surprised me !!!! I was totally dreading him retiring !! :H

Also yes the weather has got to stop - this heat and humidity is just awful - you must be getting the same as us. Heat index in the hundreds - teens some days !! Just awful .... right now the heat index is 106. Looking at the future cast I cannot see much change either.

Thank you again everyone for the support about me feeling so terrible. I am feeling better today - I did take 1/4 of the AB - Pauly - you asked what it did to my tummy - what it does is make me feel bloated and tummy achy - for the duration of it being in my system!! Really uncomfortable. I tried taking some gasX but that didn't help much - and it seems that each time I take it, the bloatedness (is there such a word?) and aching feeling gets worse.

Zen - glad that you are having such a grand time - have to smile at the weather though - wellie weather !! Lovely !! I would LOVE to have some wellie weather !! Really pleased that you have your mum sorted re her pain meds too.

MB - don't forget to give Clay a birthday hug from me ..... hope you enjoy your meal. Have the boys managed to find another job ?

Pauly - when the bananas get brown and spotted I slice them (peel them first) and freeze them in a single layer in a baggy then have them ready to throw in smoothies when I need them - once they are frozen, you can put them in the baggie properly instead of in the single layer ....

Off to relax with a book I think .....

That's a good idea Sunshine about the bananas,i freeze my blueberries and other fruit for smoothies that way i don't need ice,ooh i know that bloated feeling! where it hurts but won't "release"and you feel/look 6 months preggers,ugh no bueno,yes K9,Michelle still has those ugly things on her head,Louie still won't go near her and it hurts her feelings but really,come on i'm scared to go near her haha,and that guy sounds stalkerish but maybe he's just excited to be hearing from you,is he cute?just got back from kohl's and bought some navy blue capri's,they were only $1.50 with my kohls cash,better than the thrift shop even,i'm happy,i can see how time flies Zen,seems like you're constantly going,going,hello to all,probly stop by later

LOL - couldn't decide if you mean hubs are brothers - or the dogs are brothers ?? I don't know what it is about coming home to an empty house but I would love to do it ..... JUST ONCE.

Oh and I didn't go and read my book - I made waffles - I have a great recipe using WWF and ground oatmeal - they are really good - I always double the recipe and freeze them and then can pop them in the toaster - anyway I had them for dinner .... with an apple and almond butter. Yum.

We have thunder again - no rain just thunder - same thing as happened last night too. I am SO glad the dogs ignore it !

Well, I think I need to shower and hairwash to save time in the morning - need to find a skirt and top for work tomorrow too, as I cannot fit into any of my trousers except the ones I wore today and Tuesday! Something has to change here - LOL.

And yes Pauly - even taking the 1/4 of a tab has given me that awful bloated feeling - amazing - and it will stay with me until the darn stuff is out of my system. I even scraped some of the tablet off so it wasn't even a 1/4 !! But it ensures that I do not drink ......

Off to try on clothes then shower ....

Peeps, I am all in. I have been packing up stuff since 7:30 this morning. I had breakfast with my bestie, and she suggested we take over her storage locker. I loaded up 10 boxes of stuff, two extra dining room chairs that were in the way, and my antique Victorian steamer trunk. It freed up a lot of space, and I was able to clean the downstairs appropriate for listing photos to be taken on Sunday.

I came upstairs an hour ago, and began on Mrs. Fen's office. An entire box full of handmade cards, cartoons and love notes between us for the past fifteen years. I really want to put them into some sort of an album. I know that others won't be permitted to view the album, but there is a treasure trove of love letters and drawings. I may post one of my poems here tomorrow. I will finish the upstairs area in the morning, then mop all the floors and stairs. The place will be 100 percent fit for photos on Sunday.

Our offer is holding true. The other party's realtor has discontinued posting the property, to ease our fears. We must have made a truly impressive offer! Plus, our house is likely to sell quickly, which well may have a great part in this whole play out of affairs. I am doing my best to tweak this home's good points, of which there are MANY.

Getting sleepy, but going to read back and see what's going on...
