ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

    Good morning steppers!

Sunny, what a nuisance about how the AB pill affects you, I can understand now why you're not keen on taking it.

Pauly, I hope hubs is ok.

Niner, how was the potluck? I agree with mama, the guy pursuing you does sound a bit stalkerish.

Zenny, does jim walk jack on a lead? I would love to see that! Enjoy your boat trip.

Mama, you're awake very early! Glad the infection has gone, but boohiss on your throat being a wreck. I hope the steroids do the trick for you.

Dotts, did you enjoy your dinner out? I would not like to have to be with someone 24/7, no matter who it was.

Fenny, sounds as if you are making a lot of progress with the house. Great news that your offer is holding true!

    I hope nora is ok.

    Happy POETS day to all.

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

Good day to everyone! I am feeling better yet again .... it is so good to wake up knowing I did not drink the night before ...... and I woke before my alarm and got up 'cos I wanted to - not 'cos I couldn't get back to sleep 'cos of a lousy nights sleep!

Waiting for it to get light enough to walk one of the dogs -one of them hates to go for a walk and another is too scared, so I just take the third !! Sometimes I take the lazy one too .... LOL but it isn't as enjoyable for any of us when I do that.

We had more thunder yesterday - thunder thunder and more thunder - but NO rain!!! No annoying.

Reccy - I agree being with someone 24/7 - and I really was dreading hubs retiring but it so surprised me on how much I enjoyed it - then when I went part time, I thought it would be too much togetherness but Himself does go out - he is a twitcher now ! I just wish he would go out sometimes so the house was empty when I came home. I have NO idea why - it would just be nice !

Gosh Fen - things are moving SO quickly aren't they? Take time to breathe ......

Yes - Nora - hope you are okay?

Kradle - you too - how are you doing?

MB - how did Clays meal go? was that yesterday? I get so confused with time these days .....:H

off to walk the dog .....

      hugs XX

Hello ~ may I join you? You all seem so down to earth (and not perfect-LOL). Pauly invited me to hop on board sometime ago, and so I frequently read here,

I am married, retired living the good life in Paradise. Fairly active - walk/run, bike, golf. Used to run marathons and ultra marathons and said I'd learn to play golf when I'm too old to run. Here I am.

I am not a teetotaler, however, do want to cut way back on my drinking. I will be having a physical in early Sept. and am starting a once a week volunteer position at a hospital Sept 5th. Like everyone, want to feel better and lose some weight..

Looking forward to an AF day. Going to workout, clean house, chat with a friend who has ALS and with whom I've recently connected with due to the Ice Bucket Challenge. She lives in MN where I'm from and was diagnosed 15-1/2 yrs ago. I used to be a coordinator for a Share the Care group for her; now she has hired help a.m. and p.m. Remarkable lady.

K9, I'd be a bit leery of new/old dude. I know the attention probably feels exciting, but the "persistent" part has me bothered. Is this guy under the influence of A or any other substance during this texting/conversing? Does he appear to be the sort of person who "will not be ignored"? Most rational folks following normal cues will not tear up your phone demanding to talk.

Do you have a circuit court access site for your area? Years ago, one of my co-workers became briefly involved with a guy who "needed" to talk with her several times a day. When she tired of it, he blew up her phone line leaving messages. I did a background check on him, and it wasn't pretty. Tons of battery incidences, stalking, disorderly conduct...you get the picture. He ended up back in jail due to a probation violation, so she was off the hook where he was concerned.

Not that you're not totally hawt- you are. Just don't want some ne'er do well skulking around your door. If somebody didn't answer my call, I would leave one message, you know?

Zen, I am glad you are enjoying your trip. Are you able to take walks on the seashore, or is it too rocky? I love the sea!

Mama, is Grant in College? What will Clay be doing this year? Can't believe how old your kids are getting. Isn't it crazy how the time flies?

Sun and Dots, we've had a reprieve from the heat and humidity for the last couple of days, but it comes to an end today.

Sun, the tummy stuff must be so annoying! I is so unfair that AB does that to you. What is the longest you have stayed on AB continually? I wonder if that symptom would ease with long term use? Also, please listen to a relaxation exercise and try to meditate, even if it is a guided meditation. Those exercises are SO soothing. Better than A. :l

Reccie, I hear you about 24/7 contact with peeps. That's why Mrs. Fen's and my vacations are so tough. She is gone away on business so much, often for two weeks at a time (coming right up, again), so when we are thrown together in the MI woods or Portugal 24/7...well, it gets very uncomfy for me. I NEED to have a certain amount of alone time every day.

Sun, I can't imagine never coming home to an empty house (excepting the pups). There is something so nice about coming in that door, being greeted by the critters, putting down your satchel, and nobody- nobody is there. :h

Reccie, what will you and Amy do this weekend?

Hi Fen - you might have had a reprieve from the heat and humidity - but I haven't ! it has been awful here. Heat index over a hundred every day ....I am going swimming after work today though which will be lovely ! we are supposed to have rain on Saturday - well, an 80% chance but I will believe it when I see it. They keep saying that and it passes us by.

I have tried taking the AB for longer and the symptoms just get worse ..... and it takes less AB to cause said symptoms. I would still use it to jumpstart me if I had to - but do now go AF without it - the tummy stuff is just too uncomfortable. BUT having said that, I would put up with it if it was that or AL !!!

Welcome ToMyHealth (might abbreviate that to TMH....LOL) - lovely to have you here - you sound just like one of us !

Getting ready for work ..... have a great day everyone,

Pauly, you can get some awesome deals on clothing at Kohl's! I actually got a great deal on some casual (but cool) "sweat" type clothing from Boston store.
Sun, I had to do this, so you might as well- bite the bullet and run out to Kohl's or Old Navy and get some pants that feel comfy. You can always hold on to the old ones and coast back into them later. :h

Pauly, that cracked me up about Louie being afraid of Michelle and her purple dreads.

Well...I'd better continue on with my packing. And yes, Sun...it's moving all too fast, especially considering that it moving wasn't even on my radar a month ago. It is one of the top ten most stressful things a person can do.

Off to work but wanted to check in. I will be on tonight or tomorrow. I have just been whipped this whole week. I did finally work yesterday but then came home & crashed. Need to make an appointment with my Doctor for a physical. Seems like when I get stressed or upset, everything hits my stomach. So, did I have the flu or was it all in my mind???

Anyway - haven't had a proper read back yet. But, sending love & hugs to everyone. :h:h:l

                            Morning all,
Off to the gym. No treddie for me today. Blister on my food from sandals I wore last night to show off my painted toes....geez....
Grocery after that to get goodies for street party tomorrow. Hope it doesnt rain. We live on a dead end street and this is only the 2nd street party in the 18 years we have lived here. Only know about 4 of the neighbors. But should be fun. Making a pasta salad to take but need to get the stuff to make it.
Pauly good luck with hubs medical issues. Went through that and so much more with mine a few years ago. Men are bad patients.
                            ToMyHealth we welcome you!!

Pauly, hubs needs to have a PSA blood test, to see if it's elevated. He really needs to stay on top of the prostate stuff. Make sure the clinic does that when he goes in. :h

Nora, maybe your "flu" was your body's way of telling you that you need a break...:l

Pauly fen is right. He needs a curent PSA to see the level and to see if it went up since the last one.

Fen yes it is a quiet street most of the time. They are building houses behind us, boohiss, and so the noise level is way up and so is the dust....boohiss again..
