ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

JAN - CHRISTMAS PRESENTS ?? Really Please no ..... anything but that yet!! LOL - sorry you are feeling poorly - join the club - I have had an ear infection for over a week now which will not go away so had to go back to the doc yesterday and was given a ton of different meds!

Hi Nursie - I think we did meet before - I vaguely recall PM'ing you about something I think .... but I am old and forget things so have no idea what it was about !! I think it was sad if that helps .... You sound like a whirlwind now and yes, roller skating does count as exercise I think!

I too like the idea of having a goal and I think my goal for August is to not drink for August!

Lizann- you are SO lucky to have rain - we are desperate for it and I am fed up with watering my garden - I am dreading the water bill!!

Dottie - my Vitamix cookbook doesn't have a recipe for Marinara sauce in it - was it the one that came with the machine ? The only recipe it has along those lines is for tomato sauce ..... but it at least gives me an idea what to do. I have never used it to blend tomatoes before !! I do not use it as much as ] should either so this is a good thing ....I want a sauce that I can use on pizza, with oregano and basil .... so based on your experience - any ideas ?

Off to do something .... LOL

        Afternoon!

Pauly, I'm sorry about your daughter too.

I had no idea you're British sunny! Whereabouts in the UK were you from? Hope the new meds make you feel better quickly.

That would be very handy if you can get a pair of New Balance running shoes at a sale price dotts. As it happens, I recently acquired a pair of their trainers.

Sorry you're feeling rotten, beloved mrs bear. I hope you'll be feeling better soon. Glad your trip went so well. You look great in the group pic on FB!

Your foot is pretty too, nora! I love that you have those words on your foot. Now I have another question (zenny will tell you I have an inexhaustible supply of them!), did you have the tattoo done because of how the thread is named or was it the other way round?

Glad you made it over to the new thread liz! :goodjob: Enjoy the wedding!

Have fun roller skating nursie. How do you make your hot sauce? I don't normally bother with peeling tomatoes or removing seeds either. Life's too short and I'm too lazy!

You must be very fit if you're contemplating a half marathon, alls. Good idea about having goals. Will go and put my thinking cap on.

:hallo: zenny, fenny and apologies to anyone I've unintentionally missed.

        Have a great weekend steppers.

sun I just throw them all in the Vitamix and add fresh basil, garlic and oregano. I blend until it is the consistency I want then transfer to a pot and let it cook until it thickens up. I taste as I go and if it needs more I throw more in. I have had to add a little sugar depending on the tomatoes. I use the same sauce for everything.

Reccie - you asked which came first......this thread or my tattoo and I couldn't remember! :H I just searched back to find out. I started this thread in June 2012 and got my tattoo on June 21, 2012.

Well - everyone you sauce recipes sound wonderful. Yummy!!!

Nursie - your salsa sounds wonderful! We have a jalapeno plant growing this year but don't have our Serrano plant this year. Do you share your recipe?

Liz - have fun at the wedding in your heels. :goodjob: (I think I'd trip myself :H)

                Sunnie - I think that's a good goal for August!! :l

Well - the dog groomer is here. My poor baby. We can't take Molly in anywhere anymore because of her bad legs. So, we have to have someone come out. It just traumatizes her but we have to do it because her hair gets matted, she is a maltipoo.

Well - I TTFP too. Why, oh why, can't I psych myself up to say that every single day? Oh well - I need to focus on today and one step at a time. So, today is a good day.

Off to the market. Leaving hubby here while I run to get some ice-cream. The essentials of life. :H

Went to a doggie thing instead of the flea market..got hot and humid so inside was better.
Just made myself a fresh juice. Pulled my first beet from the garden so I juiced that with a cucumber, celery, carrots and an apple. It was a beautiful red color. Tasted pretty good too. I have more beets that will be ready soon so more juicing...

Mama - I hope that you feel better. :l

Dottie - I still haven't tried juicing. I keep planning to but never have done it.

I just got home from the gym!!!! This is only the third time this whole YEAR! So, my goal is to get to the gym at least 12 times this month. That is a very doable goal without putting pressure on myself.

Juicing or pureeing is great. It's important to have the right mix so you don't overload your body with sugar which is easy if you blend primarily with fruit. A good mix with vegetables and a small portion of a fruit to sweeten a little bit is perfect. Dottie's combination sounds fantastic.
