Sorry to hear about the situation Mama. Our pets are our friends and have that unconditional love and appreciation for us. I agree with Reccie, it doesn't matter why you cry - it's important to let the feelings out.

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014
Another frosty morning here in Oz, greetings from me wrapped in a blanket sitting outside where i can get internet! Ice on the lawn, ice on my windscreen , but there is a clear sky so it'll be a nice day.
Sunni, you have inspired me to do some cooking!
Ex hubs birthday today, but somehow methinks that putting the divorce papers in a card might not go down well!
Hope everyone is good.

Oh, gosh...SO much has happened in the last two days here!
Mama, I am so sorry about little Axl...and I understand why you are crying. I cried more when my kitty Bob passed away than when my own dad did, although I loved him. Animals love us in a way that other people cannot, sometimes. I can still tear up over my dear kitty-girl. I shall always miss her. I am so glad you went out and had a nice manicure...you need to be kind to yourself right now. :l
Pauly, is Michelle the daughter who ran off to Washington state?
Cori, I'm with Reccie...a card is best.

Sun, I'm glad you will visit your mum in the fall...so important to get as many memories in as possible at this stage of the game. :h
Nora, I have found that physical activity is the number one way to feel better these days...it is a real anti-depressant. :h
Hey, Alls! :wavin:

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014
Well, I am pleased to report that yesterday went pretty okay. SIL and nephew arrived on Friday evening as expected, and spent the night at Tick Hollow. Yesterday, MIL and her peeps arrived 45 minutes early, as they are wont to do. After fifteen years of this, I knew they would. My attitude is "You're early, that's fine- just stay out of my way while I prepare the food that would have been ready upon your expected arrival!", LOL!
Of course, one of the seniors tripped on our limestone steps leading up to the cabin and had a couple of nasty cuts on her leg and hand- I told Mrs. Fen I didn't think Tick Hollow was a good meeting place for seniors based on these steps. Fortunately, we had tons of first aid stuff. I hope she and hubs don't sue our homeowner's insurance.
Nephew and I escaped the inane chatter for an hour yesterday and took a long walk down the road my cabin is situated on.
Finally, all the company left, sans nephew...and we had a lovely evening.
Mrs. Fen went to bed and nephew and I burned incense on the front porch, lit candles, and chatted for ages. We decided to take a walk down the half mile long drive and lock the cow gate to bar intruders. We brought a flashlight but didn't use it. The constellations were so vivid, as we were out in the country. We saw two shooting stars, plus something that freaked me out, as it was not a plane, not moving at a set speed, nor a straight path. I have NO IDEA what we were watching.
We had a good talk with each other. I really love that kid! Tomorrow, Mrs. Fen is taking him on an unofficial tour of U.W. Madison (he may attend school here, which would rock) while I take mom to her pulmonary classes.
Tuesday, nephew and I are going shopping, then taking mom out for dinner. Mrs. Fen is meeting a friend for dinner that evening. Wednesday, we bring nephew to Chicago to MIL and SIL, then catch a plane to Traverse City, MI for our own vacation.
I have to say, I have done this all 100% sober, which I thought would be a hardship- but thankfully, is not.

Hey Sunnie - I'm fine. Just some aching in my arms from the machines I used. I should have gone & used the bike today but I'm going after work tomorrow.
Well - hubby just put in The Notebook on TV. A little too heavy right now, I think I might cry. :upset::upset:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

HI Fen and I agree totally with what you say about physical activity being an antidepressant. I'm a long distance runner now and the clarity and well being it brings is something I wished everyone can experience. There isn't a need to run long distances to get the great feeling, I think any physical activity for 20 to 30 minutes daily will benefit us all and a few small changes to our diet ( no sugar!!!) can make incredible improvements to overall health.2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.

Oh Dear .... I sort of had a wry smile to myself after reading Alls post - having just had two bowls of Ben & Jerry's ice cream ...... shame on me - I KNOW it is wrong ..... but I could NOT help myself. Maybe I am addicted ......
I think I need to go to bed .....
