ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

Mama I'm so sorry about Axl. Xoxo
Haven't read back all the way but love to all.
I am having a hard time keeping up wih my landlord's immaculate garden. When I rented it it was perfect, but I don't have the time to be out there all the time. Or the skill!
I need to prune back a bunch of stuff, mulch again and weed weed weed. Also the sprinklers aren't working because I'm an idiot at making things work. I hope she doesn't get mad! This weekend I will really work on it.
No drinking at all so that's good. Only a couple cigarettes since I quit. That's a work in progress.
          Off to work!
          Day 1 again 11/5/19
          Goal 1: 7 days :heartbeat:
          Goal 2: 14 days :happy2:
          Goal 3: 21 days :happy2:
11/27/19: messed up but back on track
12/14/19: bad doozy but back on track

          One day at a time.

            Morning/afternoon

Your book sounds like a real page-turner nora! I think you were right not to go to the gym yesterday, it's so easy to overdo things in the early stages if you haven't exercised for a little while.

I'm glad your weekend went so well fenny. Hope you and mrs fen have a good time with your nephew over the next few days. What kind of vacation will you be having?

Alls, I'm another one who's not yet tried juicing, but what you said the other day about combining plenty of veg with a somewhat smaller amount of fruit makes a lot of sense to me and I try to use this approach for food in general.

Go easy on the working zenny, it's not good to work yourself into the ground. :l

I'm sorry you're sad mama, it's hard losing them when they're so young. :l

            :hallo: sunny

Well done on the not smoking or drinking nursie! :goodjob:

            Have a great week everyone.

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

              Morning all,
Off to the rental to wait for the tub folks. Hope it doesnt take all day.
One of my renters dad called yesterday wanting to know where his daughters deposit was...well I spent it getting rid of the furniture his daughter left, fixing the scratch she made in the hardwood floor and paying the water bill where she filled up her water bed without permission....good grief....

mama so sorry you are sad...I know it is hard..I still cry about all the fur babies I have lost. But knowing they were loved and had a good life makes me happy.....hope u have a good trip.

hope everyone has a good day at work....

              back later

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

Reccie, Mrs. Fen and I will be taking a plane up to North West Michigan on Wednesday afternoon. We will be staying there until Sunday. I love that area-gorgeous hiking, with breathtaking views of Lake Superior...canoeing, biking and my all time favorite, searching for Petoskey stones. Theses stones are fossilized remnants of coral that used to exist when Michigan was a sea located near the equator. I am passionate about them!

We used to visit every year during this first week of August (our anniversary of meeting), renting Mrs. Fen's brother's lake cottage there. Unfortunately, BIL is a massive party animal and basically destroyed the lake cottagey cuteness of the place by building a massive timber party gazebo that obscures the view of the lake from the back porch of the cottage. The party gazebo is even bigger than the cottage itself!

Their neighbors hate B and SIL for the noise and visual pollution the two inflict upon the area when they visit. They hold massive parties for a couple hundred of their dearest friends, who camp out and sing karaoke and drink into the wee hours.

Thanks for thinking of me. Things with nephew are going well. Mrs. is stepping up to the plate where he is concerned, and is taking him on a tour of campus today.

About juicing...why is it better? Not just directing this at you, reccie...I've always wondered what the benefits are? It seems that carrots are nutritious, but not just the juice...does't the cellulose in it serve as fiber for a healthy diet? Peeps, feel free to inform me about the benefits. :h

I informed Mrs. Fen that while I have no desire to stay at BIL's party port any longer, I still very much love that area of the country, so there you have it. I found a lovely rental cabin in the woods, and I can't wait to get to it.

Thanks, Dotts! I will read up on it a bit more. With smoothies, it seems that you would still get a lot of fiber, just broken down a bit more.

Aagh, about the security deposit. The dad will probably want an itemized receipt about what monies were spent clearing out/repairing daughter's crap. Mrs. Fen and I used to rent the bottom floor of our house...it was a nightmare. I don't understand how people don't "get" that if you aren't out of the apartment on the specified date...with ALL your crap, NO damage, and cleaned properly- you are not getting your entire security deposit back.

Yep fen I figure he might. We cleaned up the mess but since I charge $50 an hour he should have done it himself...and the darn water bill....I should send him a bill.....he is the one that only got the rent to me on time twice....always some lame excuse.....he hasn't called back yet so I am not doing anything until he does. BooHiss on renting ever again....

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

Dotts, when we bought the house, there was an anesthesiology student living on the first floor. She was notorious for taking ten day trips to Italy and leaving her two felines with one litter box filled with an entire bag of litter in the downstairs closet. No cat sitters, nada. She left a huge bag of kibble out, as well.

She happened to be on one of these trips right before Mrs. Fen and I were to take possession of the house. Our eyes watered when we entered the front foyer from the ammonia from the litter box. I tried to get animal control involved, but unbelievably, since there was food and water, no harm, no foul.

The day finally came for us to move in...imagine our surprise to find half her crap still in the house. Plus, there was feces and urine caked on the walls and carpet in the closet where she'd kept the litter box.

When we denied her the security deposit, she had a fit, and demanded to know why. We absolutely had to itemize everything on the bill. She tried to threaten us with a law suit over how much we charged per hour for us to clean the feces and urine out of the closet- but we won that case. She actually believed that her leaving her armoire, cd rack, candle sconce (on the wall) and cheap fiber board shelf would add money to our coffers, and spare her the security deposit deduction. We didn't want her crap- we had to have St. Vinnie's come and haul it all away.

                          Never again.

Yep i am going to make some calls to get minimum charges to hall away her junk and to fix the scratch and I have the water bill that shows usual charges then the time she filled the water bed...
Never again is right!! Her dad was an ass all along so I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Did get the tub refinished today and some mulch put out...we totally underestimated the amount of mulch needed so back over on Thursday.....getting closer and closer...

                              Hi All,

Fen, I put everything in a Ninja which purees and keeps all of the ingredients of the veggies and fruit so fiber is retained. I combine it with a suitable amount of filtered water. Very good, fast, and delicious.
