Not doing too hot, but every day is a new day, and I plan to do better.

I miss you guys! The lady I am replacing leaves on August 28th...after that I will have a lot more freedom...she kinda hovers over me all day right now. Talk about ANAL...LOL...but hey, at least I will know this job up and down by the time she leaves.

Love you all...will check in later...she has given up control of "her" desk and let me take over, so I should be able to get on during the day.

Looks like rain here.....so I paid bills and am having my green smoothie.
Dh lost a filling so we are off to the dentist. No insurance so this should be interesting. I need to have mine cleaned but we will need to spread out the misery. Always something.
Need to run a few errands too..

Fenny, your vacation plans sound idyllic, I hope you and mrs fen both have a wonderful time. It's a shame what BIL has done to his lake cottage. Do you collect the petoskey stones you find?

I had to google the difference between smoothies and juices, which tells you how much I know about the subject. This looks like something I need to investigate further...

Listening to the awful renting stories, I'm beginning to understand why some people employ letting agencies to deal with the tenants.

Keep up the good work at the gym nora. I went swimming last night, only to find they were closing early for some reason and only managed 15 minutes in the pool, so going again tonight. I'm sorry about your mum. It sounds as if your son will be in a good position to help you decide what is best for her, so that's a positive thing at least.

Mama, I hope you'll be feeling better very soon, you're having a tough old time of it. In some ways being away from home might not be such a bad thing for you right now. I agree with kradle about possibly getting another kitten, but you have to allow yourself as much time as you need to grieve for axl rose first before thinking about any of that.

Sorry to hear that matt is struggling, kradle. Sorry about DH's job situation too, that's not easy to deal with.

AND - please do NOT take 'some' antibiotics - you have to take a whole course or none at all - plus you need the right one for the right thing - if you have a virus they are no good - all you do is cause more stuff that is resistant to ABX ! Cori - I have no idea what went on with you and the undies thread - we have had enough grief with other threads in the past and tend to keep our heads down - LOL, It is lovely to have you here though - you said you would like to grow veggies - is it really hot where you live? Do you get any rain or can you water ? Our temps in the summer can get into the low 100's but they don't usually stay there for long. It is very humid where I am and in the winter is really cold - last winter I lost about 15 lavender plants, all of my buddleias and two crepe myrtles 'cos we had such a wicked winter. I love my garden and could NOT be without it ..... it keeps me sane .... or as sane as I can be before Mama Bear jumps in with a comment - LOL

Reccy - so, you didn't say about your garden ..... I would love to hear. I smiled at you swimming last night - one thing that absolutely amazes me over here (in USA) is that the pools around here are EMPTY!! They are always so packed in UK and here where the weather is so hot and great for swimming, where I live anyway, the pools are barely used.

Dots - will be interested to hear about the filling and no insurance - I am going part time so we lose our dental insurance as from the end of this week .......

K9 - how is your mum doing? I did PM you a while ago asking but it probably got lost in the ether ....

Got off work early today - nice - the person taking my job is on holiday this week, so I am doing HER job (which is really my old job) but as I finished I just left early !

Yes, the vacation is the best, and I collect good Petoskey stones and polish them by hand. It's a lot of fun for me.

Nephew and I shopped on State st. all day, then ran to the mall so he could use up his Aeropostale gift cards. Shortly, we'll be going to join my mom, sis, friends at Olive Garden for dinner. Should be a good time!

I had to go to Wal-Mart after work. Then, I went and got the lip & brow wax. Ouch. Then I went to the pharmacy to pick up hubby's meds.

Now - I have to figure out a domain e-mail forwarding site. Then I am going to curl up with my Kindle and hit the sack.
