ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

    Good morning/afternoon fellow misfits!

Sunny, I think I could become interested in gardening, but just don't know how to get started with it. Also the conditions outdoors never seem to be very favourable for gardening in my little corner of the world. The ground is mostly bone dry at this time of year, for example. I'm glad you're getting some rain, it sounds as if you're having rather a lot of it! You mentioned you were going part-time at work, what kind of work do you do?

Zenny, that's brilliant news about the baby, I'm really happy for you. Love the name erin. I take it you'll get to visit the baby next week? Hope you're over the stomach bug. Sorry about the stress. It definitely does take a while to get back into the swing of things if you haven't worked for a long time. I'm sensing that you may not have much of a fixed daily routine at the moment, could that be adding to the stress?

Pauly, in spite of the problems you're having with michelle, it has to be said that you're sounding a whole lot better these past few days.

Cori, I agree with you about people not saying please and thank you, it's plain bad manners and there's no excuse for it. :gramps:

Dotts, sorry to hear about your dad and also about dh's blood pressure problems. I hope you've recovered from your allergic reaction by now.

Kradle, mama, I hope you're both doing better too. Seems like quite a few folks here are feeling under the weather lately.

How are your family today, nora? Your brother must be a very kind and selfless person to devote so much of his time and energy to looking after your mum and uncle.

Enjoy your son's croissants liz! You're putting ideas into my head!

    :hallo: nursie.

Glad you found some more petoskey stones fenny.

    Have a great Saturday everyone.

Hi there - Reccy - my mum uses 'water wizards' and I just Googled it and it isn't what I was hoping would come up (they are upside down bottles)- in her garden a lot to water as, like you, the ground gets so dry. And yes - we have had about 6" of rain over the past day and a half - feast or famine it seems !!! No rain for about 6-8 weeks then a flood ...

As for getting started in the garden - just try a small patch - dig it over, work some compost in, choose a plant or two - either veggies or flowers - I have a mix, water, talk to them - and then wait !! I love my garden and can not imagine life without it.

Hi Lizanne, Cori, Pauly - hope you are all enjoying your weekend. And I have TTDP. Got to the point where I have to - hopefully it won't upset my tummy .....

Hugs to you all, Sun XX

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

          Hiya everyone,

Sunny... thank you so much for such a thoughtful PM... :l I'll reply in a few when I've had some lunch. Enjoy your lazy day.

Pauly... I saw a man and a woman walking yesterday with a big shopping bag, they had a handle of it each. Your Pepsi and Fuji reminded me of it... thought they looked very cute.

Dotts... what was going on at Church today, that you made the food for? Did you have a good time?

Cori... there's a thread on how to post pics over in the Testbed section.

Liz... croissants are not easy to make! I'm impressed. I love those things but they are too fattening for this porker.

Mama... are you feeling better today? That must have been some infection you got.

Reccy... Yep, I'll be seeing the baby next week. She'll probably be home by then. Her and her hubbs are staying with my aunty, about a mile away from our house... she lives in Aberdeen but came to the island to have the baby. Her twin sisters were with her right up to the birth. You're right, my days are not structured and I doubt they ever will be with this lot! And getting back in the swing of working was harder than I anticipated. And the feeling of stress... OMG, the pits. Good to see you posting... XXX

Anyway folksies, things seem to have settled in my head somewhat after yesterday's breakdown. I feel much calmer today and my stress levels have gone down. I guess drinking and stress is something a few people can relate to. I have had my share of anxiety attacks but this stress thing... boy this sucks. It's like a continuous anxiety attack.

I did go to the gym yesterday and spent an hour on the treadmill and I think that helped get things back under control in my noggin.

This afternoon I'm going to the gym, the tan salon, and getting a pedicure... all.about.me.dot.com. I have to hit CVS to buy toiletries and stuff too. Tomorrow I'm running errands and working, Monday I'm spending the day shopping for presents, Tuesday I'm packing and tying up loose ends. Then Wednesday, off I go! I should try and make a batch of cat food but they may just have to eat can food while I'm gone.

OK, I hope everyone is having a good Saturday. Take care... :l

X-post Sunny. That's right, you're an avid gardener, I'd forgotten that. Do you still work in the same store?

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

Regarding the kitten, unfortunately I have to report that she escaped from my kitchen on Wednesday night. :upset: I put food, milk, bedding and a clean litter tray on the floor for her and turned in. Around 4am I went to check on her and she had finished the food and milk and was snoozing happily in the basket. Since she had also filled the litter tray with copious amounts of smelly stuff, I opened the small window at the top a little to let the smell out, thinking she was too young and too weak to be able to get up there. It would appear that I was wrong and unfortunately by morning she was gone.

I am actively looking for her but have yet to set eyes on her since she left. Perhaps some kind soul has taken her in. I'm happy that I was able to help her a bit during the short time she was with me, but would have liked to have had the opportunity to do more for her. Anyway, I will continue to keep an eye out for her over the coming days and (if necessary) weeks.

Mama, if by any chance she ends up staying with me, you will, of course, be the one to name her. :l

Reccie, I agree with Sun...start out small, a couple of herbs or tomato plants. You'll be hooked before you know it!

Nora, I hope your weekend is going well. :h

Pennsatucky ran her mouth and stirred up shit with other employees while I was gone and she got her ass chewed by me. It was awesome!! I am so evil, but gosh it felt good..
She was thunderstruck that I knew about the crap she did and I surprised her smart little mouth into silence. And she sat there and lied and denied everything in front of other employees. I am telling you she is a real sociopath. Amazing how she rationalizes her behavior.

Oh , and she was in the emergency room having contractions, sprained her ankle, had to put her dog down, didn't get enough presents at her any shower, blah, blah, blah. She is jealous of my relationship with the new girl and says I am playing favorites. I reminded her there was a time I cared about her, but she burned that bridge and our relationship is ruined because of her actions. I then told her to get back to work as I was done with her drama and I had work to get done.
I was a rock star major biatch!! All done professionally, of course.

And why don't they throw out a sock too? Surely they would realise that, whilst wandering around with the sock on but no shoe, they are missing something?

And why does lint gather in your belly button? Hmmm.

Hubs & I did some running around this morning. We hit the $1.00 bookstore again. It's closing in about a week so I had to go back. :H

I went to the gym for only 12 minutes. :upset: But, I am telling myself that if I don't want to go and I go anyway, then I'm going to give myself a break. So, tomorrow I will go for longer but at least I'm getting back into it. One Step at a Time.....right????
