ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014
Yep fen I totally agree...they called me to say dad doesn't want to shower or change clothes....so OT visited him today and got him to shower and change clothes....and she suggested grab bars so we will pick them up tomorrow..no clue why a facility that caters to older folks didn't install in the first place but we will pick them up and OT will mark on the walls where they should go and maintenance will install. They are pretty good about those kinds of things.. Yes this is the most difficult for sure. And dh is another worry for me.....but I do think the exercising I am MAKING him do is helping on lots of levels.....

Oh Dots and Fen.... All I can give is hugs. Y'all were here for me when we lost Pop and I will be here for you...
Yucky update.... Contractions every 10 minutes but no further dilation. I have no idea what that means.
I am trying not to freak out about work. She's a pain in the ass, but she's good.
It is what it is.
Going to try and eat and keep some food on my poor tummy. Time for a Zenny update!I love my family more than alcohol.:h

As for your dad...a lot of folks don't think of this, but one thing we do in my line of work when peeps stop showering or changing clothes (this is so common!) is to actually tell them they are smelling a bit ripe, and need a shower! Often, they are shocked to hear this and will comply. Or, a caregiver can give a few well placed swipes with a wash cloth when the client is getting dressed or being toileted.
I have to say, I am pretty surprised that there aren't grab bars, etc. in and old folk's living situation.

Mama, can you try some dry toast and a soft boiled egg? Do you like yogurt at all? That's very helpful during these occasions. Also, my mom always used to give us kids half 7 up (or sprite) and a half Gatorade mixture to help keep our electrolytes up. I wish I could be there to help! :l

So sorry to hear about your parent Dottie and fen. It does get hard..just dealt with this with my FIL. My parents are slowing down too, but thank God they are still doing good. My father told me yesterday he's herring dizzyer by the day.
Mama keep us posted on baby watch. Six weeks early is not good!
Nursie there is always next month. Do you guys want another one?
Pauly try some protein in the afternoons maybe that will help.
Started on the garage and did some major organizing. Sadly still lots to do. Off to end for me, I'm so tired. Looking forward to relaxing at work tomorrow!
