Good morning everyone

Are you getting enough sleep at night pauly? Lack of sleep usually causes afternoon tiredness for me.

Fenny, I'm sorry about your mum, it must be very hard for you to see her deteriorating in spite of everything you're doing for her.

Dotts, it's a sad feeling selling your childhood home, hopefully you will feel better about it when it's over and done with. We sold the family home of 40 years after my father died and there are no regrets now. It does seem very odd that the place where your dad is doesn't have grab bars and that they expect you to go and buy them.

Oh, and I've had that problem with not being able to see the last page of the thread a few times. Logging out and back in again or rebooting usually fixes it.

Mama, sorry about the dodgy tummy. Hope you won't have to take the antibiotics for too much longer.

New Tricks is a British series about a team of 3 likeable aging detectives led by a somewhat younger (and rather gorgeous) buxom blonde boss. They re-open unsolved cases from the distant past and usually solve them. As a matter of interest, one of the detectives is a recovering alcoholic. Don't have Netflix, so can't tell you if it's on there, I'm afraid. Sunny?

Morning everyone - getting ready for work.

Thanks for explaining New Tricks Reccy - I am not sure if it is on Netflix as I do not have Netflix ! I bought the series over here and get each new one as it comes out - am on the last one right now. I love it !! Do you have any recommendations Reccy as to any others that are over there that I might have missed ? I recently got the next series of Endeavour too .....

I feel for those of you with ailing parents - I lost my dad years ago but still have an 85 year old mum..... and sometimes she looks and sounds so frail. I hate it .....

MB - hope you are feeling better - are the ears and sinuses improving now ? Hopefully they are - but you still must finish the ABX !! I am so sorry that you are feeling poorly from them :l:h

Yes, I too had trouble trying to get into the site over the past few days - or could get here but then nowhere on the actual site - odd.

Hey all,New Tricks sounds like a show we used to have here called"cold case"i still watch the re-runs,shoot i drank for 8 years straight in the evenings so even shows from '06 are still new to me haha(not very funny)i think i get enough sleep 7 hours?however i do wake up early,usually asleep by 9:30 up at 4 so maybe that isn't enough,ugh,who knows,i don't have netflix either,i pay enough for dish network a month plus i just have my regular shows i watch,i really don't care,my yougest daughter was telling me about some site where you can watch all of those shows on your tablet or even phone,i'll have to ask her the name again,where's K9?i hope she checks in today,hope everyone has a good Tuesday,love to all

Just finished clearing out the basement closet of unwanted clothing to take to Goodwill. Preparing for the move.

Reccie, I don't believe you have to have the heat on, already! In my neck of the woods, it's going to be hot and humid. We got a lot of rain last night, so at least I can weed today. It was so dry, the weeds were bolted into the ground!

Mama, let us know if 'Tucky shows up to work. I thought that 33 weeks was pretty close to "done"...how early would it be?

Did anyone else notice that yesterday Mama referred to our lovely Bri as "Yucky" :H You KNOW how I am about spelling Mama! Hope your head clears up soon, and the tummy settles down...Lord knows I've had my share of stomach "issues"!

Tonight my mom is making dinner for me, my sister and our kids as a "going away" for my middle nephew. He is off to college and moving back in with his dad. I love that kid and I will miss him so much!! He took me out to dinner a couple weeks ago because he loves his "cougar aunt", as he calls me. LOL

I love my new job! Everyone is so cool and laid back. Sometimes I'm bored, but that's ok too...gives me time to check in on you guys!

Hi Fenny, Zenny, Nora, Kradle, Sunni, Reccy, Liz, Dottie and everyone else. I hope you get to "rest" at work today Liz!

Yucky Tucky is back being monitored and getting some IV to stop contractions
so, she's not here and my part timer can't make it either
I can only do what I can do, so no melt down yet.....

I haven't even told ya'll that my "former" friend laid off both my boys two weeks ago and hubs and I are livid.... just out the blue....so now they are desperately searching for work....we take 1/2 their check to pay for college....at least they live at home so they don't have those expenses to worry about
I ate a fruit yogurt this morning and Rumbly Tumbly seems to have settled down a bit

Do you think the Doctor will release her to go back to work? What if he suggests bed-rest from now on? I wish I was there to be your assistant Mama! :l Sorry to hear about the boys...that's gotta be tough! Sierra is (half-heartedly) looking for a job too, I almost don't want her to...she should enjoy this time in her life. She will have plenty of time being chained to a desk in the future! But I understand your boys need it for College right now...

Got the grab bars and visited dad. He was better than last time. Talked to nurse and said he had a UTI so that explains the new confusion. And the grab bars are to add 2 additional to the ones that are already there. He is grabbing the towel bar just outside the shower they will replace that with a grab bar and one at the entrance to the shower. Makes sense to me.
Hot, hot , hot here today. Summer is back for sure.....boohiss....

Hi all ... home from the salt mines. Being part time now, is a double edged sword. I like it once it is finished .... LOL

MB - hope that tucky is okay .... would her maternity leave kick in or disability, if she had to go on bed rest? Glad that the yoghurt helped your tum .... I am so proud of you for continuing to take the ABX ! But you will thank me in the end - really you will !!! :H

K9 - so glad that you enjoy your new job - I PM'd you ages ago asking you about your mum - and what was happening with her .... how is she doing?

Fennel - so good that you have been working on clearing stuff out - I have been doing that too - even though we are not moving - I do not like having 'stuff' around ! There is a great book coming out over here in October - I got it through amazon UK early on my tablet - about tidying and clearing out and it has really got me going !!!!

Pauly - I remember Cold Case and used to watch it - New Tricks is very similar except they have three really much older chaps working the cases - the three chaps are retired from the police force and brought back under a younger female boss who works really well with them all - as I grew up in UK with watching the three older chaps in many different things, I loved the series !!! It is wonderful to see them in this series .....

I was interested too about your asking if you get enough sleep - I too go to bed early - am pretty much always asleep by 9.00 - 9.30 at the very latest and am up easily by 5.00 - however, I go by how I feel - I always have energy. I read somewhere that we sleep in 90 min increments. So I feel as long as I get my 90 min increment then I am fine. I do not feel tired during the day - and as I said, always have energy ..... but am always ready for bed !!! I do feel that if I get tired, then I either need some protein - almond or peanut butter, or water ! I think a long time ago, I suggested to you that you had some peanut butter and crackers if you felt tired in the afternoon to regulate your blood sugar ..... and also drink water .... I drink a LOT of water !!! I always have energy - once my doctor asked me if I had ever been tested for ADD or ADHD or whatever - which really ticked me off - just 'cos I have energy, it means I have something wrong with me?

Dottie - glad that your dad is okay and that the grab bars are sorted ...

And yes we have had summer definitely visit us here - but we cannot complain - it has been a very mellow summer so far compared to the usual temps here. Dottie - how old is your dad if you do not mind me asking ? Tell me to MYB if you want .... How long has he been where he is? I wish I could see my dad again ..... BUT I still have my mum - so no worries !
