Zenny, a pain block is an injection into a particular area that will numb the pain there. (Think epidural, that is an epidural block). I'm so sorry mum isn't feeling well. The tenz unit isn't hard to use but if she doesn't want to wear it, then it will be of no use.
There are surgical implantable tens units but that's a big surgery and not for the elderly.
I do hope she can find some relief.

Kradle, he is 6. And half of me desperately wants another baby and the other half says call it quits. I can't believe I'm 37 already! I want my son to have someone when he grows up. We would love another baby to love, and raise and cherish!

But, we shall see. Maybe the baby itch will go away. I don't know.
        Day 1 again 11/5/19
        Goal 1: 7 days :heartbeat:
        Goal 2: 14 days :happy2:
        Goal 3: 21 days :happy2:
11/27/19: messed up but back on track
12/14/19: bad doozy but back on track

        One day at a time.

Hey all,Zen sounds like you're busy, busy but still having a good time,Nursie,we were going to have another baby when i turned 35 but i couldn't clean up my act in time, but now having Louie around i'm kinda glad we didn't,i didn't realize how much i like having my own time,my youngest is 16 so he can make his own meals, doesn't need child care, etc, the only time i have to act like a hands on parent is when Louie is over, and when he goes home,i drop like the dead haha,so if i had a 5 year old now,i'd run away from home! spamming s.o.b's are at it hard today, now i can see if this was a casual forum for say something like gardening or sports,no this is a forum for alcoholism,a serious addiction,i don't know it just peeves me,hello to everybody, let's make it a good Wednesday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

ONE STEP AT A TIME... AUGUST, 2014

            Morning/Afternoon!

Sunny, I don't watch a lot of tv so am not really the best person to ask about what to watch. One series I particularly like is Mock the Week, which is hard to describe but very funny. Google it. I'm not normally a fan of sitcoms, but Outnumbered is excellent. And then there is Spooks, which is about MI5. It hasn't been on for a couple of years so it may be a bit dated.

It was interesting to hear you say that you always have energy, what do you attribute that to? Could use a bit more energy myself...

Glad you're enjoying your new job niner.

Sorry about your boys' job news mama, I hope they manage to find new work soon.

Hope you have someone to help you at work today.

I was a bit surprised to hear how different the maternity leave situation is in the US compared to over here, where a woman can take up to 52 weeks leave, of which 39 weeks is paid leave in one way or another.

You're a hairdresser pauly? Do you have your own salon? 18 haircuts is a lot!!

Good to hear your dad is doing better dotts and that you have an explanation for his new confusion.

I think our summer is more or less over, fenny. There's a distinct autumnal feeling in the air, hence the heating. Good going on clearing out the closet. I guess one of the positive aspects of moving house is that it forces us to get rid of stuff we rarely or never use.

You have a busy life nursie, it's a wonder you manage to find time for everything, or perhaps you don't? Would you be able to cope with another baby? It's such a big decision for you.

Glad you've managed to adjust to local time zenny. Sounds as though you're having a busy time up there. Sorry about your mum's back pain. Very sad about the guy in the accident. Best of luck with sorting the doctor stuff out.

:hallo: nora, liz and anyone else I've missed.

Hi Reccie,no i don't own the salon,i sure as hey wouldn't want that responsibility,i've just been working there for nearly 12 years,i rent a booth and mostly men come in and i'm fast but good,to me cutting hair is just like a puzzle,it's so easy,18 is nothing usually it's 20 to 30 on a good day,i don't mess with perms,or sets, dabble in color, but i like cutting the best cuz it keeps me going, off to get ready for the chop-shop btw haha, have a good one

on a conference call, so I can type here for a bit...
Zen I love your posts. Its like travelling to another time and place. So sorry about the fellow that passed.
How is Bill managing without you??
My energy is good in the morning once the coffee kicks in, but I fade about 6. Then I eat and perk up again. I think peanut butter crackers are a good idea. Bri is here today......and my part timer made it, but she's acting like a zombie, so I think a pep talk is in order.
Took another "poopy pill" and will be eating yogurt in a few. It helps the tummy tremendously.
                ok...back to work

I missed the posts last night...good to see you Nora...
I had 6 weeks paid maternity leave 19, years ago....not sure what changed...it's a tough spot to be in
they have stopped her contractions for now and the hope is that they will not again. She is not dilating, so as I understand, Baby Jack is not ready to be born, but her body is "practicing"...
the current joke at work is "Keep Jack in the Box!!!"....didn't mean to offend, but it IS funny!
Fenny - my MIL could not find a single story condo to save her life....so she and Pop bought a small one story house

                      Hello all,
Off to the gym. Had a horrible storm overnight and all the doggies were afraid. Me too. Loud cracks of thunder etc. didn't get much sleep so feel a little zombie like myself.
Will read back when we return.

Nursie, please don't have a baby just because the window of opportunity is closing....also, there is nothing wrong with kids being "only children". Please think long and hard about making that decision.

                          Hi everyone!

Thanks for the trip updates Zenny...wow, I would love to go somewhere...anywhere! Our "big" trip last weekend was only to Los Angeles and that's a crappy place to go. LOL I used to live close to it and boy do I NOT miss the traffic!! I was happy to get back to my little sleepy slow-poke town. ha My house is 1.5 miles from my work, and did I mention that the library is right next door? I love it!

Sunni - You had asked about my mom ages ago and I never responded...sorry! She is doing GREAT! They got all of the cancer and she doesn't need chemo or radiation. She takes anti-estrogen pills (?) because her cancer was caused by estrogen. I think I have that right. Anyway, she is doing awesome and she feels great. She made us all a great dinner last night, so things are back to normal.

Dots - Did you get rain with that storm? We are literally drying up here in California...it sucks. They say even a lot of rain wouldn't help much at this point. Our town is lucky that we have our own water wells (and I know this now working at the Water Plant...LOL).

Mama - LOL at keeping Jack In The Box! How's the baby-daddy situation, is he still in the picture? And what's up with the other one acting like a zombie?

Nursie - Your plate is full! Makes me tired thinking about everything you have going on. My house is a complete mess too. When I get home from work the last thing I want to do is tackle a toilet or bathtub. I say "screw it"...LOL. It's my dirt so it doesn't bother me. HAHA Like you, I just do the basics.

Pauly - Have fun at the chop shop today...at least your day goes by fast with that many customers!!

Ok, guess I better pretend to work for a while. Be back later!!!
:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Zen, I don't know much about "Pain blockers". Is it an epidural, as nursie pointed out?

When my mom had her double by-pass surgery a couple of years ago, her shoulder ached a lot from having had her chest cracked open like a coconut...the doctor gave her lidocaine patches, which worked wonders for her. They last for twelve hours at a time. I wonder if they might be helpful for your mom's back pain? Can you call and speak to her doctor about it? You'll be able to hear him better over the phone. :h

I am glad that you and Jim are having a good time, if a bit soggy.
