Such a tragic loss, not only was he a beautiful man but an addict like us who fought with dignity and strength. It is a sad day today, a very sad day.

        Very sad news.

I heard he battled with depression. That and booze is a tough mix.

        Vale Robin and thank you.

Yesterday, I watched a 13 minute news interview that he did in Australia, where he talked about his addiction, his relapse, and his reasons to stay clean.

It is so heart wrenching to know that he lost his direction.... I hope we can all realize how precious life is... money can't buy us love, it can't cure us, we must protect our souls. :l

Just got the news flash, so very very sad - a talented, troubled man who gave so many such a lot and was not able to give to himself. This news is so wrong.....I hope he is at peace now...

RIP Robin Williams. I grew up with him from Mork and Mindy, Mrs Doubtfire, Good Morning Vietnam, Night at the Museum, Dead Poets Society, voice overs on cartoons and his latest sitcom last year, The Crazy Ones (and so many many more).

I don't think there is another actor I watched long term as long as Robin. I connected even more when I realized he was also an addict (in recovery).

It is so sad and just makes me realize we can never ever take our recovery for granted. He also suffered from severe depression as most of us addicts do. It really makes you think, today is all we have. You never know when the road will turn and we have to actively deal with addiction no matter what stage of recovery we are in.

My prayers go out to his family.

Wow, (assuming alcohol had something to do with it)....this thing kills the most interesting people. And just when my mind, after 3 year sober has been trying to tell me I can 'just have one'.

Here's a quote from one of the articles, which I think explains addiction very well:
When asked why he relapsed, Robin answered: "It's [addiction] ? not caused by anything, it's just there? It waits. It lays in wait for the time when you think, 'It's fine now, I'm OK.' Then, the next thing you know, it's not OK.

                RIP Robin
