Cannot deal with the Al or the constant worrying about drinking..... just really having a hard time today ...... tried to contact a couple of you with no success. I am just so DOWN....when is this ever going to stop ?????How simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....

One Step at a Time - September 2014
Well, the day is nearly over, thankfully.
Shortly after 8 a:m, a person from the buyer's insurance company arrived and asked permission to take photos of the exterior of our home, which I granted, natch. Then, at 9, a representative from a moving company arrived to suss out our situation, per Mrs. Fen's request. I was a bit taken aback, as Mrs. Fen hadn't informed me of this, and some of info he needed I couldn't give. I texted Mrs. Fen after, and she thought that he was coming tomorrow morning, LOL.
Hustled off to pick up my mom shortly after ten. We arrived at the Dodgeville Monument place a little over an hour later. There were some headstones out in the lawn of the place, so I wrangled my frail, permed, wisp of a mom around the uneven grounds, toting her oxygen pack. There was an uber cute little Bichon Frise/ Poodle mix in the yard who didn't even yap at us once! We got inside, and there were more stones to choose from.
The owner found my uncle's paperwork, as mom wanted her stone to be in the same style as his and my grandparent's. He noted the massive numbers of peeps with her family name in his files, LOL! Anyway, it turns out there was a model in the same style for one person...which suited her needs perfectly. We selected some nice wording, chose the praying hands wrapped in a rosary, and put down half the money required. The artist will put together a "mock up" and mail it to mom for us to inspect. I felt sad, but I am glad that mom is moving on this.
After, we stopped at the cemetery she will be interred in, and I tried to scrape the lichen off her mom's marker. I got a lot of it off, but we decided to have the monument people pressure wash it.
After I got home, I was going to veg out, but noticed to my horror that I'd forgotten to put my fitbit in my pocket. Dottie can attest to the fact that if you go out into the world without it, it's like you did NOTHING physically. I forced myself up on the treadmill and bowflex and I'm glad I did.
So, here I am. It was hard, but not as hard as I thought it would be. Death is a part of life, and I'm glad that my mom is taking this in her stride. Her father was so fearful of death. Her older sister who passed away in July set a good example.

Hey, Reccie...thanks for your kind words.
Dottie, I wonder why the site keeps logging you out? How odd! It looks like you are able to post now, at least.
Nora, I hope your cold is getting better. I had one last week and it sucked. I miss you. :l
Zen, I know Mozilla is the best...I got so pissy when I couldn't get rid of that stupid "new page"...it was an extra hoop I didn't want to hop through, you know? Plus, the privacy stuff bugs me. What are you up to tonight?
Pauly, where are you?
Mama, how are papa and the cub doing on the college stuff?
Kradle, Alls, Liz, Niner...I hope you are all okay.

OMG! I had a HUGE post that got taken from me! :upset: WTF?
Oh well, I'll condense it.
Sunny... I was running docs through the fax on the home line today and I think you called then (I don't have a dedicated fax line). I hope you're feeling better. I posted a lot of other things to you but it's gone... poof!
Fenny.... I can't believe how brave you are with this stuff... I don't do well with death. I typed loads to you too. Sorry...
Keeping an eye on Scottish Referendum, texting with cousin, probably won't wait up for result. And I bloody well hope THIS one posts!
Oh and bad weather on the island (fog) almost held up the whole damn referendum as they couldn't fly the ballots in... embarrassing!

Zen, I don't think that I am particularly "good" with death...but, I know it is inevitable, and I do believe that there is an afterlife...reincarnation...etc. Even if there isn't, I believe that we all experience a great peace when we expire.

I am trying to get to your headspace on death Fenny...
OK! We have Orkney, Barra and Clackmannonshire counted and things are not going according to plan for the YES folks. Either way, I honestly think just bringing the issue to light will affect Scotland positively, independence or not.
