One Step at a Time - September 2014

Sunny? I have a line in the garage. And a wooden clothes dryer thingy. I use the tumble dryer too. We?re not allowed outside lines here in this concrete jungle? part of the Association rules. I?m glad I gave up on all the ironing though? who cares if my PJs are creased? they?re gonna be more creased after I sleep in them. I have been known to iron sheets, pillowcases and dishtowels? retarded! I?d rather watch Netflix instead now. One of the first things I did when I was home was wipe off the clothes line and hang the washing out? it smells SO much better.

TMH? Cori posted mostly on the Undies thread but she?s posted on the Step Thread also. I couldn?t bear the wrinkled stuff hanging up. I?ve started buying stretchy things that don?t need ironing. I really don?t like wearing constricting clothing anyway? so the stretchy option works good all the way around.

Nice to see you Pauly! X And nice to see YOU Niner!!! X

Dotts? I got the cake for Jim?s birthday party at Costco? a huge red velvet cake for $16.99? there wasn?t a bit of it left, everyone loved it.

IFT? I really think you need to take care of your health before thinking about a trip. I wouldn?t pressure anyone into going abroad if they were in a compromised position, healthwise. The golf thing? that?s debatable imho? but the health issue is not. (Perhaps you should start taking the heat off the ?son? part of things with her? turn it into the health issue debate?)

Nora? Yep, whatever works? X (And I?m with you on the ironing? I?d rather clean toilets!)

Well? I?m at loose ends today. Seems I?m on top of everything I need to do. So I?m going to go and take a nap and watch Netflix! Haha? the absolute cheek of me! What I SHOULD do is go and clean out all those PMs... ugh...

Hey all, On my lunch break. Crazy busy day at work. Weird day yesterday, having hubby around. We took a walk and then went shopping together. I'm just so weepy all the time these days. Am tempted to go get a bottle of wine, but that's really not a good idea. I've read back a bit. Not sure I like the new site, but I guess we'll just chalk it up with all the other changes in my life.

Liz... I'll be honest... I am TRYING to like the new site but it's doing my head in! I managed to re-subscribe and there are none of the old people left in Subs. I see Dotts over there though, a face I know! X

Yeah, it's definitely not the same... but we have to work with what we got.

I bet having hubbs around will take more getting used to than the site... jeeze.... major adjustment. I don't think any of us like change too much and you've had your daughter getting married too, didn't you?

Did I miss Mama? Where you at girl?

Oh Lizanne - you sound like I felt for the past few weeks - I know if I had had MORE AL, that I would have been even more weepy, so I do agree with you - not a good option! Is there anything in particular going on that is causing it do you think? I know with me it was mainly because I WAS drinking - I am feeling so much better now I am not - but if you are already not drinking - is there anything else going on ?

You all made me laugh with the different ironing stories - I actually enjoy it ! I just don't usually allow it to get to that point - and TMH I am ironing for two of us - it wasn't just me and it was bedding as well as clothes (we use duvets so have duvet covers) - and my skirts and blouses take for ever ! I couldn't leave it in the closet - it would get way too dry and be really hard to iron !! Anyway - it all made me laugh hearing your different responses !

IFT - I think that you need to go with the health issue - flying to Italy might be too much right now health wise - I would be a tad leery of doing that - tell your g/f that you would check with your GP who is bound to say no to that ..... and as you said, with your being away so much, I do think that you should be there for your son this time ..... it is a one off thing.

Hey K9 and Nora - good to see you both .....

            Pauly - you too ......

Mb - glad that you had a good weekend at the lake - do you keep going into October - does it get cold down there at this time of year or stay warm ?

Dottie I am confused are you GOING out for breakfast or did you GO out for breakfast - last Sunday or this coming Sunday ? Anyway - which ever it is - enjoy !!

Oh and Zen - I still iron tea towels and such and love getting into a bed with freshly ironed pillowcases !.... and I watch stuff while I iron ....

TMH - I am not sure how hubs slept as I was asleep when he came to bed. And he was asleep when I got up and left to go in to work ....if he tossed and turned he didn't wake me. I was amazed that I have had no trouble sleeping at all - usually my first AF night I lie there awake but my first night last week, I slept very well.

Have to admit, I was thinking to myself this morning 'okay if I took a half an AB Sunday evening then I could probably have a drink on Thursday ......THIS IS NOT GOOD THINKING. I really am feeling SO good so why am I even thinking like that ???? PLEASE knock some sense into me all of you !!!!!

Off to sit and veg for a few - I have had a couple of really busy days and really feel like having a nap .... should go and do something really but a nap does sound like a good idea ....

            Hugs to all,

            sun XXX
How simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....

FT, I have to say that I am surprised at your girlfriend. You are right to stand your ground. I can understand some disappointment concerning the Italy trip, but I should think she would want to ensure that your health is good before taking such a risk. As for your son, I think he should come first, too.

I was supposed to go for a nap... and instead of that I spent the rest of the afternoon chatting with OneTooMany on FB chat. She was the Founder of the Army Thread. Love that lassie... :h

So NOW I am going for a nap. And taking my laptop just in case I miss something!

You OK Mama? It seems like it's really busy there... did you get a temp? If you lived close by I'd make a pot roast for dinner... with mashed spuds!

And Sunny... I am sending you my freaking ironing! You enjoy it? Seriously! Oh, you will be sad when I get this USPS thing worked out!!! :H:H:H

How odd...I can see the post...
I'm doing well...today was sort of a wash, though. I went to the cabin last night so I could meet the electrician early today to see about getting electric baseboard heating in...on my way out, a car was coming up the drive, so I quizzed them- never know, they might be tree poachers or bad asses. Turns out one of them is our realtor's nephew we are buying firewood from on Saturday. He wanted to see how bad it would be to get the wood up the hill to the cabin. So, I was stuck there longer than I wanted to be. I didn't even go directly home, I went straight to Momma Fen's house and took her out mall walking and to get a b-day card for my sis. By the time I got home , half the day was shot. My computer was acting up and it took an hour to sort. In half an hour, I have to jump in the shower as I am taking my mom out to for a belated birthday dinner. We will meet Mrs. Fen and two of our dear friends at the restaurant.

                    How are you?

sun sorry for the confusion. Sunday was luncheon at church. Today breakfast out with dh for his freebee for his birthday which is Sunday..ok have I confused you more???
FT I am with you on this one. I take a back seat to hubbs kids for important things. He usually makes up for it later or I help remind him.....health is important and if you were to become ill on that trip it would nto be a good thing for anyone. A trip you can always take...IMHO.
Zen I pop in to the subscribers area sometimes but navigating is problematic at times.
Got all the errands done so we are in for an exciting night of TV.....

Zen, sometimes unscrupulous tree cutters will sleuth around to find high money trees, like walnut. There are tons of walnut trees on my land, and even though the bottom of the driveway is posted against trespassers, if the gate is open they will come on in and have a look around. Once my friend was doing work on the cabin, and a guy drove up asking if he would sell the walnut trees, lol!
