One Step at a Time - September 2014

Tried to get on here last night and if I clicked on General Discussion, another would come up - like Need Help ASAP. Once I twigged that THAT was happening I clicked on the one above General Discussion and GD came up but then it would not let me go to the next page - ours was not on the first page for once. I finally gave up. And no it was NOT the Guinness - I was in full control of all my faculties. I only had a few and yet I still had a lousy nights sleep - woke at 1.00 and lie there awake for about half an hour - will I EVER learn ???? Woke up on and off throughout the night - I need to try and remember nights like this when I am tempted to drink .....

Wow - I came back to this page and looked for my post and it wasn't here - then wondered if I had even actually posted it - so clicked my mouse in the box where one writes and it said to either restore or discard and my post that I had started came up !!!! NO more lost posts for any of us !!!!

Nora - love the t-shirt, I think it is really nice and good colour for both men and women!

I had not thought about taking an aspirin before flying - going to UK in two weeks I will do that!!

Oh Fen - yes I am definitely a whiz tech !!! ROTFLMBO !!!! Excuse my while I wipe the tea that I snorted out of my nose ..... oh you are funny .....

IFT - when you and gf have argued before is this her 'style' of arguing usually ? Does she go silent for days on you ? Can you go and see her ? I hate letting things stew. Glad that the health thing is being taken care of though.

Lizanne - you are sounding much better today - much more positive. Laughed at one of you two not making it through sorting the chaos and mess - that would be my house too - and it would be hubs that wouldn't make it through!!

MB - sorry Clay is being a pain - tell him to get off his rear end and get out there and find a job and yes, turn off his phone - do you pay the bill for it ?

Got to get going everyone - hi to anyone that I haven't acknowledged -

    Hugs, Sun XXX
How simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....

That's why I was hoping FT's doc had suggested that...don't want to take any chances.

Nora, I think the t-shirt design is perfect as it is...I wouldn't change a thing!

Sun, you crack me up! :H Sorry I made you snort tea all over your computer screen, lol!

FT, your gf is certainly lacking in the "empathy" department...plus, as Sun pointed out, she doesn't have a very mature style of conflict resolution. On all three points, your health, job and child- she is wrong. The fact that she is trying to punish you through silence doesn't bode very well, IMHO.

Mama, I think you should let Clay know your intentions re: the phone if he doesn't get his buns out and find some work! Darned kids.

Pauly, good for you on getting out with the doggie- I think exercise is a great way to start the day.

FT, I forgot to say, safe travels!

              Morning all,
Nora love the t shirt. My dad has Alzheimer's and it is really sad to see him decline.
Doctors appointment later today. Strange heart beats continue. Very disconcerting for sure. Hope it is nothing more than stress over the house, dad and all the other things going on...I have my binder of info to take too.
Another beautiful cool day. I could take this all year round.
Ft gotta keep on top of the health thing particularly after a certain age.....

                Thanks again guys,

Just gave my boss an ultimatum to set my travel up or I will do myself...lets see what he does.
When ever me and gf have had a disagreement we have usually resolved pretty quick, not going to bed angry has been on goal we have tried to keep, but with this it puzzles me.
Oh well, like I said before if trip to Italy was more important than my health, job than its time to re think

AF with a few speed bumps during 2014 & 2015 but will succeed.
As of 4/12/2014 I have not smoked at all and feel great.

Mama... I would be threatening Clay with removal of phone privileges! You know how attached the kids (actually all of us!) are to their cellphones... that should get his attention. Good job on the breast cancer walk.

IFT... I guess your GF is pretty adamant about her thoughts on the Italy trip. It's none of my business, but I don't think it's a good way for her to handle the situation... not very helpful towards the relationship. I would call her... you guys really need to talk. I hope you're not feeling too badly about it, although you probably are. X Take that asprin before you fly home!

Liz... Glad you're starting to feel better. I'm sure all the upheaval with hubb's home office hasn't helped. I had a terrible time adjusting to sharing my home office with Bill... I HATED it at first... so I'm sure you feel the same way about the family room.

Sunny... That's a new issue with the wrong forum coming up! That would be a pain. I had the same "restore or discard" thing with a post I walked away from for a while yesterday... nice to know! I checked into the pull down tab for Favourites and Firefox doesn't seem to have that. What browser do you use? I know how you like talking about techy stuff... thought I'd oblige! :H

Pauly... Woof yourself!!! I always think of LV as being hot as I've usually gone in the summer... strange to me to hear you saying how cold it is!

Dotts... Hope you mentioned the Beta Blocker option to your Doc... my little 25mg dose at bedtimes has made such a difference to me. A great med imho. What did he say?

Fenny... What are you up to today?

                        :wavin: Hi to everyone else!

I responded to everyone I could see posting today but I will BET there are some posts I can't see. I'm not ignoring you... honest!!!

Nothing of any note to report this end... pretty boring day truth be told, but I kinda was needing one so I'm fine with that. Going to go for a walk in a park in a wee while. I should really get my arse back in that gym FFS! :eeks: Work's been really quiet this week - it seems it's either too busy or not busy enough.

Reccy... Are you feeling any better? Sounds like you have a large dose of the flu or summat... :h

Zen i havent seen him yet...later today. Hubbs takes that drug for his BP. He may defer to the cardiologist and I see her on Monday. I want her to run some tests to see if there is any underlying issue but I passed the echo stress test with flying colors in March so who knows....stress......
Another showing on the house later today. We lowered the price. The comps showed it was time...darn it anyway...

Dotts, I have had issues on and off throughout my life with occasional wonky heart beat. Fortunately, it's not sinister, but that doesn't keep it from being worrisome and annoying. Mine usually happens in times of stress and the doc usually gives me a few lorazepam to help knock it out.

Zen, when I took beta blockers for it, it made the extra beat seem stronger and more intense! I'm glad it works for you. I think sometimes I get the rarest side effects from meds.

                              Hiya!

Geez, I just did a refresh and saw a message about the site being unavailable until Friday October 3rd owing to an upgrade. Hope the site isn't going to be down for an entire week! I'd better hurry up with this post anyway.

Zenny, I was able to replicate the overlap problem by adding a sidebar to my browser, so you've definitely identified what's going on there. That's a pain in the bum about your cancelled meeting, something like that would drive me nuts.

Sunny, I don't think anyone wants to yell at you for drinking Guinness yesterday, but try not to forget how unhappy you were last week, you really wouldn't want to go through all that again. :l

Liz, I'm glad you're feeling better and well done on changing your avatar! BTW, if anyone is having difficulty changing their avatar, I'm more than willing to try to help.

Fenny, I can see your avatar on the thread just fine. When will you be moving into your new home?

Mama, it's brilliant that you are going to do the breast cancer walk next month. Um...will clay still be able to look for work ok without his phone?

Nora, I'm glad you'll be seeing your mum soon. You need a break from work and looking after hubs, and it will do you good to see her. Your locking up story brought a wry smile to my face. It normally fell to me to lock up at work as I worked a later shift than everyone else, but chaos would often ensue if there was ever a change to the usual routine. You would think that people would be sensible enough to check a building before turning the lights off and locking up, but it's surprising how often they don't!

I love the Alzheimer's logo and the colour is really good too. It would be very hard to improve on what you've got there, but, in case it's of any help, here is a link to a company that sells Alzheimers awareness T-shirts, including ones with your logo:

                              http://www.inktastic.com/Shop/Alzhei...T-shirts-.757/

IFT, I agree with what others here have said. Your GF doesn't seem to be being very grown up about any of this. Maybe you could do something nice for her to try to lessen the disappointment of not going to Italy, but I think you need to stand your ground on the main issues.

Best of luck with the house showing dottie.

Woof!!! to pauly and :hallo: to those I've not mentioned.

Still a bit snotty and shivering today, so no swimming for me this evening, but at least I am managing to keep on top of the dog walking. Need to be fully recovered by tomorrow as I'm supposed to be going up to stay with my mum for 24 hours or so.
