Morrison- I love that one too. I am such an island and so love it that way.
Also, ANYTHING by Cat Stevens.
Love Elton. Love U2. But it is Cat's lyrics who come to mind- especially Oh- and My Sweet Lord. We already agreed as a board that this is the best song ever ever ever. I realize it is not a Cat song.
I also love "Let there be Peace on Earth and let it begin with me." It was the first song I ever learned and had to sing in first grade. What a special song and what a tremendous memory. My first grade class sang it on XMAS eve. There was not a dry eye in the house. And I was the one who said to the entire audience " Merry Christmas to all and all a good night.
I swear I have always been a bit odd. There were 100 kids who could have said that phrase and I was chosen. I have always been such an individual- not @ all special- but different.
Oh well. Could be worse. I am quite happy being an odd duck.
I hate to admit it but I really liked a lot of Debbie Boone's music too.
Hey MonaKitty, As I said Merry Christmas to all and to all a good nite, I had to hold a white stuffed kitty! I swear.

lucky, I got a fare share of Simon and Garfunkle. My mom went a bit insane after her sister Dolares dies, and she would just sit in front of an old -school record player, listening to it over and over. It was pretty messed up.where does this go?

Standing knee deep in a river, dying of thirst.... Kathy Matea -the whole song is amazing! The whole song is about things and people we leave behind, and our longings for things when we have all we need right in front of us.Life itself is the proper binge. Julia Child

I got really wasted one night many years ago and just listened to this traditional Mexican folk song so many times in a row that all my freinds left me. I kept listening to it. in the morning I had not only a horrid hangover, but these lyrics stuck in my head that I had no concept of...I don't habla Espanol. hmmm.nosce te ipsum

The whole song
KATHY MATTEA STANDING KNEE DEEP IN A RIVER LYRICS
Friends I could count on
I could count on one hand
With a left over finger or two.
I took them for granted,
Let them all slip away,
Now where they are I wish I knew.
They roll by just like water
And I guess we never learn,
Go through life parched and empty
Standing knee deep in a river,
And dying of thirst.
Sometimes I remember
The good people I?ve known,
Some I?ve forgotten I suppose.
One or two still linger,
Oh, I wonder now
Why I ever let them go.
They roll by just like water
And I guess we never learn,
Go through life parched and empty
Standing knee deep in a river,
And dying of thirst.
So the side walk is crowded
The city goes by,
I just rushed through another day
And a world full of strangers
Turn their eyes to me,
But I just look the other way.
They roll by just like water
And I guess we never learn,
Go through life parched and empty
Standing knee deep in a river,
And dying of thirst.
Go through life parched and empty,
Standing knee deep in a river
Dying of thirst...Life itself is the proper binge. Julia Child
