morning.
anon, im not surprised you are fearful now. not sure quite what happened in the running incident but i should think its one of those things that happens and is rare. the consequences seem rather extreme for what was a trip? but it happened and put the seed in your head.
i dont know about you but as i get older, i definitely get more cautious. my mind told me i or my dog was going to get run over every time i walked a certain road. i would visualise falling into that road (access is on a slope). you know as a competitor what visualising does.
chances? minimal, possible? yes. i still walk that road, im just more aware. its as dangerous as any other road round here.
'it happened before so it could happen again' (your trip). yes, it could but it more likely wont. you'd be so busy minding your feet you'd bump into a lamppost first.
your intellectual and emotional sides are probably arguing with each other, listen to the intellectual side :l

Anon, you know the Nest wisdom about getting some distance from al and building sober muscles? Will a couple of weeks rest not dissipate the fear and rebuild your confidence? But I do understand your anxiety - hugs and more hugs.14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Thanks for the wise words folks.
A few weeks before we went on our big Southeast Asia holiday I tripped over a speedbump during a half marathon and fractured my hand I managed to get away with a hand splint to enable me to travel and it did heal well. One week back from the holiday out on my bike I hit a tree root and went head over heels doing a lot of damage to my face, leg and hand.
I worry that I am TOO accident prone at the moment hence the loss of confidence:new:

When I was suffering from the B12 deficiency -- one of the first ways it manifested itself was a certain lack of balance --- 'out of the moments' sort of moments --- could there be any outside chance that it could be somethin like that? I'm sure that's nonsense -- just when you catalogued the instances there--- it reminded me of little mishaps I had round that time -- only little cos I wasn't running or biking maybe......?

sounds alot like i do most days. yes, it gets boring. i have stuff i could do, such as board out the attic, fine if i was a midget.
went to the less local bigger library today and stood in the middle rather nonplussed. it is a round affair and i found it completely confused. is it the head librarian who chooses the layout or indexing? or is there a system? came out with one book from the 'express section' because i went there for books, i was going to leave with at least one.

it has a unique smell that is irresistible to dogs. indeed they love to rub their necks into it nice and hard to make sure its in there, on the collar is a bonus. it stinks satz and has something in it that lingers.

Lovely and soothing crossing the Wicklow Gap ? or is it the Sally Gap ?
mollyka;1703795 wrote: well we just had a good chat --- and he's admitting to being absolutely exhausted -- he usually doesn't admit it --- hence the reluctance with the bike --- it IS tiring --- so we'll go for a small spin in the morning -- and then we'll go out for lunch or something --- walk on the beach that sort of thing --- so decent compromise hopefully
