Good evening, Army, from Alabama.
I haven't read all the way back. Waaay too lazy for that, but hope all are doing well.
Have great news. My girl has FINALLY taken the first step towards dealing with her domestic abuse. She very much liked the counselor and felt comfortable with him. He advised her to develop a exit strategy if her husband gets violent again. A bag of clothes for her and the children and a place to go. The thought scares her but gives her something to chew on.
Hopefully, she manages to get herself into the mindset where she realizes how dangerous this situation actually is.
In other news, have moved mama into a full on nursing home. She can barely speak or move. I feel so badly for her. Her deepest wish is that she would never be this far gone, just as her older sister was. Dementia is a cruel fate.
My daughter and I have opened a salon together. We have just added a new employee. We have been open for 2 1/2 months and already almost breaking even with income/expenses. Scary times. I piled my entire savings into the business. Failure is not an option. :-)
Autumn is truly here and the trees are beginning to turn. This can be so amazingly beautiful in this area if a hard frost doesn't hit early before all the leaves change. Fingers crossed.
A shout out hello to Zenners, Molly, JC and all other Army friends. It is good to "see" you all again.AF April 9, 2016
