I have cats and have had lots of cat who have adopted me over the years....Never paid for one even the full breeds they just show up at my door or I end up in a house where they need to be adopted or in the mountains mind my own business......

If they are about the same age they are trying to figure out who is alpha. I always put the new kitty in the bathroom at first or another room so they all could sniff each other under the doors.

They hiss and growl at first but most of the time it does go away. However I once had two cats way too close in age and they never got along. The one I rescued from the mountains was crippled and the one I had at home just never liked her. They never hurt each other just lots of chasing and hissing.

      It will get better!!

I think all pets should be spayed or neutered. And it does extend their life. My dog was "raped" and bled to death under my bed when I was 6. Definately get both fixed. There are too many animals in the world that need a home.

Most people should also be spayed or neutered so that they cannot procreate. Too many people on the planet.

oh, and just an fyi...the kitties in the avitar are siblings but from different litters. The boy is on the right and the girl on the left. The boy will run after and jump on the girl (terribly growling and hissing)- especially if there is another cat outside- but ultimately they love each other.
                  good luck hablar-

I think I am going to get neutered, move to a foreign country and become a swami or something. Maybe not that .. I am thinking of a carribbean theme... not the pirates but the brass drums and rum... wait wait.. wrong headed thinkin'... Ok ... back to reality.

Sorry just a little stressed here... Night number two with Pyscho Male kitty, sweet Princess kitty, and Rambuncscious Boy! (with a cold)

I did talk with the wifey tonight and she absolutely refused to neuter the male. He is a Champion Breeder. He is not a normal cat. Mau's are very expensive and you breed them. The girl kitty was for me so I could have a kitty all my own. Thanks for all the advice. we are just going to have to figure this out.

I did have a bit of success though. I held Sadiki (the boy) for half and hour and made him feel like a king and he left her alone for half an hour after I held him.

                      End of thread

                        Divide up the house.
                        Keep'em separated.
Only let them together with supervision.
Have a spray bottle of water handy for discipline.

                            Ok all,

Just wanted to give an update to end the saga of the cats. All is well in the house. My wife arrived home this Saturday night from her week long vacation and it was like she magically put a spell on the animals.

The animals are best friends suddeny laying next to each other, sleeping together, cleaning each other... While I am please ... I remain speechless! From this day forward my wife is annointed The Crazy Cat Lady!

That's wondeful news. I know you were getting attached to the little one.

Long may their new friendship continue.
