    Hiya Niner... XXX

OK, I'm going to be honest before I bog off to take care of my patient... I started smoking pot at 14/15. Never got addicted. If it's really pressed on me now I'll take a drag, but I never buy it and haven't the slightest intentions of using it even if it does become legal. And I'm in the pharma field, so I could abuse it with ease. I honestly don't think it's addictive for everyone - only the people that choose it to be so - just the same as alcohol.

The more I think about it, the more I realize addiction is kind of a choice. And sometimes the thing that keeps people in their addiction is the lack of something better to focus on. If life sucks and you have major problems and issues it's hard to kick an addiction... one needs light at the end of the tunnel. So all the opinions and everything that are bandied about regarding kicking AL... I think it's time to take a cold hard look at the differences in people's lives... some people, simply, have it harder than others... and that is a huge contributing factor.

On that note, I am ORF! I'm sure the hate mob will be getting ready to fire and I'm not in the mood to defend myself.

    Stay strong Steppers. XXX

Hey all, jeez i missed a heated discussion here! i like that we can talk about whatever here and not have mods or whatever remove posts,we do all have opinions to share,i just feel like weed is easy to get anyways and if the kids are gonna get it they'll get it,i know there is different strains they use for different medical purposes, plus buying from a dispensary is better than buying off the street i think?i don't know i can't smoke it anyways, sorry to keeping beating a dead horse, let's drop it,i love you all
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

First and last comment...it's bizzare to me (medical use not withstanding) that a group of addicted people are debating the legalization of an addictive drug....bit of a conflict of interest In my humble opinion....

But mama, you rock...plain and simple :heartbeat:

Glassy I love your insight for K9 and K9 I agree that Sierra may very well see that the grass is not always greener!! And is GOThrones on Netflix???

You folks are awesome! You seem to stay woven together even when opinions differ. I would like to think that this is an example of what it is all 'about'.

MamaB -I personally thank you for bringing up the subject of Marijuana. What is so incredibly funny is that I tried it one time and almost choked to death. While the others -in my early teens, sat around and smoked it, I kept right on drinking my beer and wondering why these fools were inhaling this stuff. I often wonder if the weed would have helped me not to become a full fledged alcoholic. I don't guess it really matters though; my brain was looking for anything to change the way that it was currently operating (lol). Sounds to me like you are an awesome mom and awesome friend to many on this website -how cool! And MamaB, I really do enjoy reading your posts -you bring positive energy to the site and others.

A personal opinion, based on experience, that I would like to share is in regards to our kids (hopefully talking about teenage kids) and Marijuana. Most kids (teens) are going to experiment with drugs (alcohol, etc.). Furthermore, after about age 13, we will don't have much influence on many of their choices. Yes, I had to learn the hard way -these young creatures have their own brains (lol). Based on my experience alone, I would much rather them become infatuated with the organic than the alcohol. And as far as pain management, well, this is sort of a no brainer in my opinion. If marijuana will do the trick, opposed to the more addictive pain medications, then what the heck are we worrying about?

In most of our lives -the lives of us here on this forum, we have used some form of chemical to alter the way that we think or feel -right? As such, we have all somehow gathered on this site to not only discuss our drugs of choice that led us here, but also to garner the friendships and conversations about other things.

I could possibly be wrong, but I do not think that anyone on this thread or who has commented on this thread has any form of intended ill-will or otherwise. Seems like sometimes it just helps people to express their opinion -even though that opinion may differ from the majority.

Thank you all for your posts. There are many of us out here that don't post on your threads -but just dang, we sure learn a lot.

Thank you for your thoughtful post SW! If we all agreed about everything all the time, then how much fun would that be? LOL

Kradle - GOThrones is NOT nor do I believe will ever be on Netflix...HBO owns it and I doubt they'll ever give up their rights to it...the first four seasons are available on DVD, I borrow them from the library. And I am right there with you sister about CASH ONLY from now on. I don't have any credit cards (obviously, due to my current bankruptcy), but I'm not even going to use my debit card. Every week I will withdraw my allotted amount and when it's gone, it's gone!!

I am dreading Monday (Sierra leaving) but also kinda just want to be done with it so I can start adjusting. I really do need to get back to the gym so I can feel better mentally and physically. It's either that or dive head first into a bottle, and we know where that leads. I told my sister I would need Monday afternoon and all of Tuesday to sulk, and then I would be fine. LOL

What are you up to today Pauly?

                Is it 5pm yet???
:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Spirit - that was lovely. And yes, after a certain point we can no longer control our kids...but I am a fierce and hopeful Mama!!
Dinner is in the oven. I know ya'll are dying to know what I am cooking.....shepherd's pie. My carnivores are home tonight and must be fed.
It was brain numbingly busy at work today. I have mashed potato head brain....
Tucky is back in two weeks and I am dreading it. But...all will be well. At work, at home, and here.
I love you all and I am glad we are cukoo for coco puffs......all so different, but so alike.
With that....I send warm hugs and prayers for all and am off to watch Jax Teller hopefully undress while he maims and kills...................

Well Mama, now that you mentioned Jax Teller in a state of undress...I think I shall switch over to SOA tonight :congratulatory:

I dont know why GOThrones confuses me, me guess me just a dum dum! LOL

Sierra went to Carls Jr. at 3:30 so I don't even need to think about putting anything in the oven. I may reheat some of that chicken I made the other night, but I'm not a huge dinner person. I'd rather eat a HUGE lunch then sleep all afternoon. For some reason they tend to frown on napping at work.

Mama, don't you worry...'Tucky won't last long once she returns!

I love shepherd's pie...I have to mash up the parsnips in the mashed potatoes or Mrs. Fen picks them out!

Niner, it's kind of nice when you only have to rustle up dinner for yourself. In my case, Mrs. Fen is so fussy, it's a hassle to cook. When she's gone I'll just throw a potato in the oven to bake.

Hope everybody is having a peaceful evening.

Yes, Mama I can't imagine her lasting long but Geez Louise she's just been dug in like a tick all this time- boy howdy!!

Spirit work hi there hi there! Big hugs.

I agree that I need to turn into a Cadh only Gal but here's a question for all you Cash Veterens... How do you pay e water bill or the electric bill or a credit card by cash????
I am looking into a no check checking account where I can have my mortgages on auto pay and that's it....I know that if I have a check book I won't stay on track...God it's like having AL in the house...if it's in the cuboard then it's more than likely going to be in my glass...

Well, I'm in bed again...with you all and Netflix...Supernatural is loaded and ready to go. !

                              Evening all,
Nice group thingy tonight. They are all our age or older so very interesting stories to tell.
Gym tomorrow then we pick up our car. I am going to a cooking thing party tomorrow night. Or if I don't stop sneezing I might just stay home...
I pay everything by credit card. I get points for how much we spend so I have lots of bills on auto pay to the credit card they pay off the card each month. My first career was accounting so that has been really helpful all my life. And I have been lucky with some really good jobs and a few crappy ones too...
                              I am heading to bed.
                              See you all tomorrow!
