Great post - and Kuya is one of the old-timers I really miss; she had practically disappeared by the time I arrived here, but many of her old posts helped me tremendously. Pity that in-fighting and intolerance drove her away.

Morning Satz and Dreamy. Good post there from Mossross. The man doing the chair at AA said something yesterday That sitting at home won't get you sober. Inaction won't get you sober you have to put the work in and very few can do it alone the failure rate is high. Another AA saying is its not just about stopping the drinking we need a plan and life style change its a programme for like but keep it simple odat. Enjoy your evening Dreamy good to be in demand can't remember when I had choices on a weekend like that lol.

They are a loud family at the best of times - but then there are literally bus loads of friends arriving at 9pm - :egad:
- will be lucky to escape with my sanity methinks. I am the driver so I can't even leave early.

satz i think the people you are giving a lift to need to realise that its not a right. you are not a chauffeur. you are happy to drive i assume but to hang around for when they are ready to leave? they need to realise its a bonus they got driven to the party and bloody lucky if they dont to have to wait around and pay the expense of a taxi to get back. if youre up for it, try and get that thought into their heads before they get pissed, before you even get there.

lots to do, should do, but cant get going. i feel bad for not doing anything. so it goes round.

Hanging about on the couch doing nothing feeling a bit guilty as it is a lovely crisp winter day and I could/should be outside.
So Roxy we should just enjoy the not getting going. Life is too short to feel guilty!

Afternoon army Satz if you don't too stay want late at your bro in laws do can you say it to them that you might not be up to it and may leave a bit early so may be they could organize a taxi for getting home? I wouldn't be too happy having to stay till all hours while everyone or almost everyone is getting drunk and carrying on drinking when the music stops and the bar staff are trying close? ok if you're drinking but a nightmare if you're not at least it would be for me. Anyway hope it goes ok and you enjoy self no matter what the outcome.Roxy I know the feeling been doing that lately too much tv and internet so better get stuck in to some housework this morning. Don't worry about that 'doing' nothing Rox & Foxy - I do that too & beat myself up most weekends for doing nothing - we're MAD!!!
Tidy & clean the bits that bother you but remember X-factor final to night - get some Minstrels & enjoy.

Thought I'd posted earlier just getting thru the day party tonight really lookin forward to it still deaf but- it'll be grand benjy hard work done now enjoy!

I am looking forward to the meal and then seeing their faces as people arrive. But after a certain time -no -I'll be fed up.
Drunk dancing is a thing of the past for me I'm afraid. I'll sit with my mother & prompt her that she needs to leave early and I may have to bring her

Ah well I felt the same at the 21st I was at earlier in the year - and had a ball 'till 2am - so we'll see .......

See how you feel Satz as the night goes on its your evening out too. As you say you may want to stay till the end but you could also bring your home and make you're get away then perfect excuse.
