In my defence...........I did say wedding cake.
I was the clever clogs brought the black bag-from previous experience of seeing gifts go walkabout.
So I know there are lots of envelopes ... :yay:
Kept them under the table being the ONLY sober one there :harhar:

Apart from anything else - I felt it was more respectful to those having spent money on a gift & handing them over - that someone was taking them home & that they did not get lost in the mayhem of dancing & drinking.

It could be worse, I could be filing.

Oh thanks for clearing that up Satz I think you did say in one of the posts just my oul brain lol. Glad to hear you're night went well too Molly and not too many drunks repeating themselves. Or at least you avoided most of them. In the past I would drank too much came home and crashed out with y makeup clothes all over the place and a glass of water for raging thistst and hangover next morning which have meant a day or two recovering from. No more too old for this lol but i'm not sorry or don't miss Xmas work parties. Well I better get ready to shower wash my hair and get going just hope the buses are not delayed today the service isn't great this timeof year at weekends. Me too Foxy and I can hear now you are thinking all the right thoughts. In that you are missing NOTHING.
I honestly have to say -I did not feel deprived at all.
People are STILL in shock at me not drinking - & I love being all smug ....

Oh and must tell Ms A the letchers were out in force last night.
Slobbering is all I can say.
I worked with a lot of them years ago in the place Mr S still works in and they assume they still KNOW me and that I'd have anything in common with them..... creepy.
One was actually 'spitting in my face while talking he was that close :sick:

I thank feck this morning for The Army helping me see the light and that you CAN enjoy a night out without alcohol !!

Sounds like some great nights out!
Satz I know what you mean about feeling smug but I just like the freedom and enjoyment of not HAVING to drink.

Went over to Liverpool at 7 am to do a long run with a group of friends and on the way back at 10am --in the town centre loads of cars including mine were pulled over by the police some were breathalysed and probably because I was in running gear I was just wished a happy christmas. Bloody hell that is the second time that has happened. Still cared the pants off me:sad:

Like Satz I am so grateful I found you lot:heartbeat:

Ginormous lunch - the usual Sunday braai; I stuffed myself. Also had the first watermelon of the season - beyond delicious.

Looks like we might get some rain!

                      Enjoy what's left of Sunday!
14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Whoever was supposed to person the security room must have been skiving, Molly! We were always told to think of all the hungry children in (fill in the blank) when we didn't want to eat our food. Guess the same applies to big people too. Was it good, though? Forbidden food must be; such a waste otherwise.

Evening got back from Dun Laoghaire bout an hour ago and the bus service was quite slow but it wasn't busy apart from euro/discount stores. Just had a cappuchino befor I got the bus home. Tired now too and in my pjs and going to have dinner shortly. Still very cold and it rained a bit but not heavy and stopped now. Enjoy your the rest of the sunday. Book and tv for me. Oh I opened the malteasers before I went out and i'd say nearly half is gone. Also had some dark mint chocolate so planning to go a brisk walk tomorrow before I burst out of my clothes I know I gained a few ibs. Be back later dinner is almost ready.
