[A Better Me]

happy new year, burred my grandad last week, six years since nanna died and he has been waiting to join her the whole time.
he was 84, and lived a selfless life managing to make 4 generations of family laugh. survived by4 children, 11 grand kids and 16 great grand kids.

Aw that's nice. Not the burying part, sorry about that bit Aspy, but it sounds like he was a nice man & obviously left quite the legacy.

Missy the party went well. Mr cakes ended up spending 6 nights in hospital after being stung on the foot by a stingray...infection. Intravenous antibiotics. He's home now, thank goodness. But it was surprisingly easy to be a single parent for a week. I could watch cooking shows all night, leave the light on to read in bed for as long as I liked, or not.

I went to the Triple J Beat the Drum 40th birthday party thing yesty....awesome. I rocked it like only a middle aged Mum from the 'burbs can....jumped around for 4hrs straight. Fun.

Have you packed yet?

Not yet, Raggsy. As of this morning, I've completed one of my major deadlines - 48 pages and 18,000 words in the bag and ready to wing its way to the uni examiners. YAY! So now I just have the massive work report to complete by the 30th, but can start preparing for the trip in my free time. I've pulled all my expedition gear out of the wardrobe, but it's 35 degrees here with no air con, so trying on outfits for -20 will have to wait. I just bought myself a new camera though - waterproof, freezeproof and shockproof!
