Tis a beaut morning here, aside from the meditative tones of some clown next door with a leaf blower. I suppose he/she has to earn a crust! 'Surely you've finished by now mate?' 'How long does it bloody take!?' Where's me sling shot?

A bit of gym work then a run. Love it. Heaps of fun things to do today after that.

    Take it easy out there.

Hi G -first, if you don't mind me asking, what volunteer place (or type place) are you looking at being able to work at? Without having read too much, it sounds as if you might being freely giving some time to others who are/have been addicted (just like you do here on MWO)?

Now G, I truly do have to learn more of the Ausie lingo. I am having a great time aggravating the hell out of my three adult sons with some of my new catch words/terms. I love the word beaut -they hate it -lol. I love the word mate -they despise it -only because its me saying these words -lol.

Ok G and finally -as I sit here and type, I am LMAO. I am talking about the leaf blower next door and you and your sling shot. Now, I have a video of this "in me mind". LOL x 10. Only because I have wanted to do the same to my neighbor next door to me in the early AM when he fired up his noise making blower. And just damn, my neighbor could finally cut the noise off and pick up a few leaves -right? LOL. Ain't it great to be a human?

    Peace to Ya.

      Yo Spirit.

lol. funny your stirring up kids with some Aussie slang! Try this one.....'I'm just going to splash the boots' (going for a piss).

I volunteer teaching guitar at a big accom set up for people who were formerly homeless, but where long term accom is now provided. Many of the folks have mental health and/or booze drug issues. All ages. So there may be an opportunity to also do some paid part time work there as a support worker. I suppose i'll find out in the next couple of weeks.

Off for a light run and a swim after yesterdays long run in the heat. I'm on the hunt for soy ice cream later! But more fruit and veg today.

      Take it easy y'all.

Seriously G -I have to believe that you are this funny "in person" as well.

LoL. LoL. ... I will wear the "splash the boots" quote out. I needed a new term. Tame the tiger, walk the dog, etc have gotten really old over the years.

The volunteer work at the shelter sounds really awesome. And then to now have the potential to earn some dollars while doing so! I am going to start looking for this same type service opportunity -and stop just talking about it. Thanks for the info.

Mr G - how did you feel at the 21 day mark? I've been feeling very grumpy (at everything!!) over the last week (through December I had given up any pretence of moderating and wasn't trying very hard at all to be AF) andI just read back over this thread and wondered whether it is hitting the three weeks mark that is nagging at me sub-consciously.

Missy, i feel good. Bearing in mind i was AF for the last 4 months of 2014, but either way i do find i get a little tired in the afternoon, but i suppose that's when some folk just take a nap lol. Yes, i can get a little grumpy, but more like i am a bit touchy emotionally the first few weeks, even months, until i settle down and my body gets it's bearings. That's my experience.

Running, and giving myself plenty of free 'me' time, i find really helps.

Glad you like that one Spirit!

              Have a beaut weekend everyone.

Thanks Pie, good to see you.

The best of the best of Saturday mornings to all.

The weekend free to do whatever i like. This doesn't include boozing i'll have you know. No desire for that. :sohappy:

A run, swim and making music is on the cards. Am loving all of this running and exercise i've been doing these last few months/this year. Just call me 'The body'!

Perhaps now would be as good a time as any to say that I am just not ...not. I use to pride my self in being the most up to date -older generation- person that I knew. Computers, language, etc - I was in the know. I am now embarrassed to admit that I had no idea what "L8tr g8tr's" was. I assumed it was some more Ausi slang so I looked it up. I now promise not to make fun of my 80 year old mother again -for 'not' knowing.

Its kind of funny -I have started my own G-Man quotes/slang book/list -but I am not putting this one in there (lol).

                      Yo Spirit. Lol.

'L8tr g8trs' is probably from your neck of the woods?

A sunny windy sunday morning here and day 27.

mmm 27. A big number. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison all passed away at this age. So did a dear girlfriend of mine in 1999. She was also the mother of our child who sadly didn't make it through day one all those years ago. Old news now, but the number 27 is a special one for me.

Feeling real good these days and strong in my goals. I like Kensho's 3 truths she posted in the Newbies nest recently.

                      1. I can't drink responsibly.
                      2. AL makes me feel like shit.
                      3. I can't live the life i want with AL still in it.

                      Thanks Kensho. Spot on.

I know i've expressed fightin words before, but approaching 30 days i am feeling strong and committed standing tall and proud today right now as an alcohol free man.

As my old mate Mahatma said to me........Be the change you want to see in this world.

                      Take it easy.

Hi Miss -I have not looked up "Yea..... Nuh" ---yet. But from a southern US redneck dialect interpretation I would say that this means "Yes I hear you but there is no way in hell that I agree with you". And actually Miss, this is exactly what we say to each other now if we the circumstances permit. LOL...LOL...

Now, you are causing me to have to look up "kiwi in Australia" and I already like "Our side of the ditch". Sometimes we say "our side of the tracks" -and I am not absolutely sure that it means the same thing. LoL. Great Saturday night reading for this INTF.

Gidday there G Man - its lovely and warm over here although so windy I could fly over and watch the sunset where you are. But I think, I could be wrong - but most of the prevailing winds flow from West to East.
Have a great evening my friend!
